Not trying to be difficult here :D But why do some folks call their Scrape blade a Plow? a person advertized having a "plow" with pictures plain as day it being a rear scrape blade, I emailed an inquiry asking what size the scrape blade is? replied back it is a 4ft plow, so again I email if we were talking about the same ad? that perhaps he has 2 ads one with a scrape blade and one with a plow? and might have got the pictures backwards? ;)
ya know i have seen this done before, :cool: he said Nope only has 1 ad and is the plow, OK i wasn't going to argue this point, Instead I thought I'd bring it here to hear what ya'll call these things? :D Plow? or Scrape Blades? :cool:

We call them Grader Blades around these parts.

Blade or scraper blade. Around here plow means something mounted in the front unless one is turning ground.

I'm gonna throw my hands up in the air and chalk it up to one of those interchangable english terms:rolleyes:

In my neighborhood a plow turns the ground and a blade scrapes the ground no mater what end of the machine it is on.

It's a rear grader blade that plows the snow. ;) :D My question is, how does it grade dirt, but is able to plow snow? :rolleyes: ;)

Maybe that fella bought it to plow with and got real poor results, offer him 50 bucks for it.

I too call it a back blade, but when I'm using it I'm plowing snow or blading the driveway... go figure.

Yeah I'm thinking the same as most of you, If it has a blade its purpose is to scrape or dig, if it has a tooth,spade,disc, it is for plowing ;) although I have used my Box scrape as a plow, by bolting a plowing spade on each side of the outer bottom lip at the rear of the box so they will hang down 10-12" worked great for busting up this Ga, red clay, also makes perfect 3 1/2 ft layout row :)
Note: that was 10 or more years ago when I had to improvise, I do have a real plow now,:D

'Tis but a name that is thy enemy;
... O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rear blade
By any other name would plow the snow as sweet ...

I would call a blade mounted on the front a plow and a blade mounted on the back a scraper. My 2 cents.
