Is it just me or has Kioti products really taken off?

I love my new Kioti and would buy another in a heartbeat. That said, I'd probably also be thrilled with a Kubota or JD or NH or any other leading brand.

My fear selfishly is that the pricing on all tractors in Canada where I live will be very adversly impacted by the variance between the US$ and CDN$. I worry that some of the smaller players may not be able to sell enough because demand in general will slow up. Certainly the really big established dealers may (if they've been smart) be better equipped to survive. The Kioti dealer near me is new and very small. It is well run and respected, but I do worry about it.

As an example, the tractor I got in Dec would be $12,000 more today. EXACT same.

Sure the Kubota's will be up too, but the small dealer may see just too few sales.

Wow!! Are you serious?! Around here a CK30 wouldn't bring $12,000 brand new. We're not allowed to post links, but if you look on eBay you can see where a guy has been trying to sell a really nice looking 2006 CK30 HST with a KL130 loader for $11,900 and he isn't getting anywhere with selling it. Heck, a super nice looking 2007 DK45S cab unit only got bids up to 14k. Is there that big of a difference in Canada?

I suspect that the dealer is not selling many of the CK30's in Canada right now due to both the economy generally and the sudden reversal of fortune for the Loonie. Tough times for anyone selling anything metal.

Tell me about it!! My business is way down since I am indirectly tied to the auto industry. Maybe tractors are down more, but I can't see how from where I stand. I hate to profit on other's misfortune, but I'm buying real estate right now from people who bit off more than they could chew. I'm just afraid it's still going to get worse before it gets better. I'm gonna have to leave a few of those Mason jars buried in the back yard just in case...

Hey, you could always open up a Harbor Freight franchise , they are not tied to the auto industry. Besides, your father has already stocked you up pretty well. :D

Hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel on a day when the Dow hit 6500. That takes us well back into the 1990s. Harbor Freight is about the only store I'll be able to afford pretty soon.

That dow could drop to zero far as I care, none of my money is involved in it.[as a matter of fact, that would be interesting].

Good for you. The rest of us are actually a part of the US economy.

Honest Dargo! I paid 28k including all taxes for the CK30, loader and backhoe and that was a "hot price." I got a $2k discount cuz the loader was a demo. The identical unit (I swear on a bible - the dealer just showed me) would:eek: be $42k taxes in now. It is insane. On the other hand, milk here is $6.29 a US gallon so high prices seem to be the norm.

If the tractor was the "new price" there is no way I could buy it. The big Kubota dealer near me has TONS of inventory and he is slower but he's still selling a couple of tractors a month. The Kioti guy has either 4 or 5 tractors in inventory right now. It's a bit scary.

Gosh jimmyj, if I lived in your area I'm afraid I'd have to live in a tent. Is it not possible for you to buy in the US and import? I speak from a position of ignorance on this issue since I've never looked into any import/export logistics or fees. There must be some barrier or there would be a bunch of people here in the U.S. taking trailer loads of tractors and stuff up to your area and making a killing while saving you guys money.

I may be completely wrong, but it seemed a few years ago some guys around me went to some border state and bought some Dodge diesel pickups (had kilometer gauges) from Canada to save money. Weird.
