Buying Advice Is the BX2380 capable of doing what I need v. Land prep for seeding

It is around a $2000 difference, but it's more than that because they seemed disinterested in dealing with me. Maybe because it's only a BX, and they know they have a captive audience since they're the only dealer within 2 hours.

Yuck. Doesn't sound like there's much relationship to destroy. :(

For tilling, please do not get the cheap tiller with 4" tines and shear pins. You'll regret it. My brother did and has hardly got any use out of it. Breaks shear pins regularly. Spend more time lining up holes to replace them than you will tilling.

I recommend the RTR 1250 and nothing less. It is the real deal. I have done a lot of tilling with mine and no issues whatsoever. Pick up a big rock or root? No problem, slip clutch will kick in, you throttle down, take power off PTO, dig out rock or root, and go right back to it. Does an amazing job and goes deep. I do many food plots for friends and family and gardens, etc. the 12 series or higher will not let you down.

Good to know. I'm surprised since the dealers quote me for the rtr0550, and the rtr1250 is basically the same price.

I just spoke with my local dealer, and he's willing to come down in price (hasn't sent me the quote yet). However he was very curious to know where I got the other quotes from. He wanted to know who was encroaching on his territory. I thought this was America, capitalism..bald eagles, and all that good stuff. Needless to say, I didn't tell him who I got the quote from.

All Kubota tractors have their first service interval at 50 engine hours. You can certainly do the 50 hour service yourself. There are numerous threads in the T-B-N archive documenting the process.

You will be learning to "drive" from zero on the tractor. You will have learning incidents like most tractor tyros. It is unlikely you will not have to return the tractor for operator error repairs one or two times during the first year. I recommend Kubota's KTAC insurance.

(I have owned three tractors.)

Insurance will cover operator error? Care to share your operator error stories?

The 1250 is more expensive here. If your dealer will give you the same price, then it is a bonus. The 0550 tiller is an insult to tractors everywhere and they shouldn't put their good name on it. I've not found that to be the case with any other 05 series Land Pride attachment that I have experience with; just the tiller. Seriously night and day. I'm saving you some big disappointment.

On my L3800, I had the RTR 1260 (same tiller, just wider). My brother and I were tilling a new food plot on his property, about 1.2 acres. He tried to go side by side with me on the opening round. He broke 4 shear pins in a total of about 120' and did not get very deep either. Had to keep moving out of my way as I kept making rounds while he was trying to get operational. He finally quit fiddling with his tiller and I just did the entire plot with no hassles.

When I downsized to the BX2370, I made sure to get the 1250 tiller. Still using it now on my BX2380. Tilled 8 food plots of various sizes in the last 2 weeks. This thing is the cat's meow. Can't say enough good about it.

Yes, KTAC will, less their $250 deductible.

Search KTAC insurance on Google or T-B-N.

KTAC monitors this site fairly closely and is always helpful.

1) With my Kubota B3300SU with Quick Attach bucket: pin pulled out in the woods. FEL bent. Unknown until late in the day, when bucket would not level.

$1450 gross repair, $250 my cost.

2) L3560 Ripped loose HST solenoid connections under tractor, Bush Hogging in woods. Repaired and Expanded Steel armor improvised. $1,000 repair, $250 my cost.

I'm glad you mentioned that, since the dealer just called me and said they don't recommend the land pride, but he quoted me on the woods rtr48.30...but then i'm missing out on the current implement rebate.

Neat, so it's almost like a warranty program.

I might add that the bx2380 has not been released here, must have a lot of 2370's to get rid of which is probably why we got a good price on ours with the 4 in 1 bucket.

Thank you all for your help!

So far I've just strapped on the ratchet rake, and played around. Seems like this should do the job! It will take some practice to get the technique down, but it's pretty fun.

edit: I see what you guys are saying though, I can definitely feel the limitations when it comes to lifting. I'll look into increasing the hydraulic pressure after warranty expires.
