Beezfun,
The attached circuit shows a possibly load holding option that would also allow the use of the "float" feature. It does require electrical signal to operate. Companies like Bucher, Hydro-Force, Delta Power, Rexroth - Oil Controls, etc. all make these Normally Closed solenoid operated valves. Just throwing out another possible option to help keep you confused :D
I think this is a nice solution. Found one on hydraulicstore.com for $61, plus some hoses and fittings.

Was it one of the S2B valves? If yes that would be the correct valve. Would suggest the PB-S2B model for your flow rate.

Do not over torque the valve into the body or the coil nut. From memory around 30 ft-lbs on the valve & 5 ft-lbs on the coil nut. Over tightening can or will cause the valve to fail

It's this one. Flow rate is almost zero, there are flow restrictors in the line.

That model might work since you have the flow restrictions. Problem is that it will not flow both directions when energized. In Delta Power model code that is an S2A

I believe you, because I've left my front loader in the air for weeks and it doesn't drift down, so somebody made this valve that doesn't leak.

When the tail wheel is down and I'm mowing, it would be 78psi on the cylinder. If it's cantilevered out I agree it would be a lot more. But I don't care if it leaks down when it's cantilevered because I'm not mowing.

That's what I'm doing. But it's not just with the mower. If I'm trying to hold a back blade at a tilted angle and it leaks down/up this fast, I'll have to disconnect the hose then too. Not an impossible situation, but not what I expected.

I'm not sure what to tell you or suggest. All I know is that the problems that you have or figure that you are going to have are not a problem that I or my customers that have purchased valves from me seem to have. :confused3:

I say this because you mentioned if someone would have told you that these problems were always something that had to be dealt with, that you might not have invested in the "T&T".

These are not problems that everyone has to deal with. And before you figure that the Kubota valves are about the best there are, maybe the loader valves, but some of the current Kubota rear remote valves are among the worst ones out there among all of the tractor manufacturers. :(

Good luck with your decisions ahead of you. ;)

Yes, good catch. I need the S2B, or something equivalent.

Why wouldn't a toggle operated 2 way valve work for this? I don't need to move the cylinder up or down once I get it set, so I shut the toggle valve off. If I want to move the cylinder, or allow the float to work, I open the toggle valve. The only thing I really need from the toggle valve is positive shutoff with no leakage.

Toggle valve would also work if you don稚 mind having to manually shift it.
