WOW and that is a WIX p/n. NAPA would have these for about $30 tops.

This one was super milkey. I had to use a cloths hanger to clean the Pan. Easier for me being just a gear Trans. no doubt. Had to replace the Screen. Someone put the Ghetto rig on the one in it. Welding and the brass screw is what it looked like replacing the Old screen. It was bent up but was dirty and slimed up also. The very bottom looked like Crisco!!! Whale oil was my guess. Stunk!!! I don't think a powershift would have lasted that long.

And that is why JD303 is not the fluid of choice anymore. Whale oil is banned and illegal. The substitute like Crisco is now subject to many class action lawsuits.

I got it at NAPA. But they gave me a NAPA Gold 1586 as they didn’t have the wix filter on hand.

For the future; it looks like that WIX 551586 also cross references to a Donaldson P169078, which is a pretty common filter. It is a medium pressure filter, 1000psi, 17 micron, 24-28gpm flow, so it is a little heavier built than many filters.

Yeah I found that out the local fish Mkt. told me!! Wanted it Org. as I could you know.. I filled it with TS.303 back then and now I'm waiting for the Tac. to roll to change it. In the 900Hrs since I done it. I'm using this to change it. TS.

We know J20C or TF500A is best. These are known to work.
- TSC's Premium Hydraulic Fluid (UTTO J20C)
- Shell Rotella HD Premium Hydraulic Fluid
- Blain's Farm & Fleet for John Deere, J20C (not HST)

Don't get stuck with picking one that sounds great with marketing hype on the jug. It either meets it or it's flawed.

Sae20 Hyd. fluid is what is says. I'm not worried much about it. My guess the 303 in it now is clean. I'm telling you it was Whale oil that a came out of it. It was Nasty!! They didn't ban it in the US. until 1975. My YM2000 production in Japan was in 75-77 "Wikipedia" In the United States, whale oil was used in cars as a constituent of automatic transmission fluid until it was banned by the Endangered Species Act of 1973. It was also a major component of hydraulic fluid in tractors (like the ubiquitous JDM Type 303 Special Hydraulic Fluid) until its withdrawal in 1974. No doubt it was a rice patty tractor import.
