Yes, isn't it about now that they start working on opening the ice roads in Canada?
They often have -50 or -60F and they never close the doors on the dozers, etc. Every year, something breaks through the ice and they don't want to be trapped when the dozer sinks.
I remember reading that during the IGY (International Geophysical Year, 1957), they parachuted a team down to the polar ice at -60 below to build a runway for the planes to land bringing in the equipment. First team had to sleep in tents until they got the runway operational.
