None for me either. Chiggers is a different story.

I'm covered in ant bites (long story).. but haven't had any ticks this year. Of course, I'm only out at the property a couple times a month right now.

I haven't had any in the last few weeks, but I dread the fall when they usually come back again.

Had my worst tick encounter of the year Sunday. Had 3 wake me up crawling on me in the bed, then the next day found one lightly imbedded in my head. Put our comforter in the dryer and found 1 dead in the dryer afterwards. Sunday morning I took my dog for a hike (she sleeps in the bed) then I went wade fishing a river for smallmouth, spent plenty of time on the banks bushwacking.

Curious,

For the past month and a half, NOT A SINGLE TICK!

And I have not cut down on my exposure, and have not added any preventive measures.

Odd? Or just the seasonal decine?
How dry has it been in your area? They tend to be less active when it’s dry out.

We also tend to see them in waves around here. We get a busy time from mid spring to early summer, then the activity seems to taper off, with a resurgence in September.

Was at farm Monday cutting back low hanging limbs for about 3 hours. Was surprised that I didn't find any on me. Did spray with 40% Deet around ankles and pant legs. Earlier in the year didn't seem to matter what precautions I took, seemed to always wind up with 2-3 when I went to farm

Anyone seeing alpha gal in their area?

A neighbor had red meat allergy from tick bite. We're now seeing lots of seed ticks that are larvae I believe, pin head size.

I suspect the dry weather we have been having here in VT has suppressed the tick activity a good bit. Not a lot of people I know have reported issues with them after a wave back in the Spring. The rain we are finally getting now just might bring them out...

What's interesting to me is the lady had AGS, had severe red meat allergies then acupuncture treatments which cured it.
It seems illogical but it worked for her.

Daughter had it 5 to 10?? years ago in VA. Had to take her to infectious disease specialist for diagnosis. This year marks 2 year she could tolerate meats again. Very serious disease.

Went to farm this past Tues., farm in southern Ky. Sprayed pant legs and around ankles with deet 40 before going. First time in almost 3 years I didn't find ticks on me after showering that night.

I know if several people who have had their allergies successfully treated by acupuncture. (I don't know anyone with AGS, however - or at least no one has told me they have it.)

May have already posted this earlier, Ex daughter-in-law contacted Alpha --Gal in 2020 I think. Took her 3-4 years before she could eat a steak or burger. Not sure about pork.

Here in Missouri Chiggers seem to peak in late August through the remaining hot weather. When the tall weeds mature and dry out I am careful to use a spray with deet.
A bad case of chiggers is pure hell.

So her situtation wasn't just red meat? No chicken or fish either?
