Yes...Sun dogs, also called mock Suns or parhelia, look like second Suns in the sky, appearing at the same height of the Sun and to its right and/or left by 22 degrees or more. They are caused by light that is refracted through ice crystals in the atmosphere (as through a prism) and exhibit the colors of the rainbow.

Looks like here in Kentucky we get a respite today and get above freezing, then we're supposed to get another three or four days of the brutal cold. It's above freezing right now, but the wind is gusting to 35-30 mph, so the wind chill is still probably near 0.

The pic is beautiful, as long as it is JUST a photo. Finally warming into the 60s today, up to 70 tomorrow, and back into the deep freeze on Monday. I have got to hoe the garden, and cut more wood.
