The CK20 has a rear and mid PTO, the rear spins at 540rpms and the mid spins at 2000rpms. They even list a front PTO at engine speed which is most likely just a cover near the front of the engine that will allow access to the crankshaft to put a shaft on, which sounds like a bad idea.

Kioti Specs

Also, when I have my snowblower mounted on the rear 3pt hitch, I put the hydraulic remotes for the backhoe into N for nuetral and I can still lift and drop the 3pt arms attached to the snowblower. Maybe it is setup differently from the dealer but it doesn't matter where the remote switch is (A-N-B), the 3pt still works.

Thanks Dmace,

I must have been thinking the mid PTO which must be the one that drives a front mount blower

Once again, I may be mistaken here but most front mount snowblowers have a driveshaft that runs to the rear PTO shaft since it is geared to a much lower 540 rpms. The mid mount PTO is typically only used for a mower.

All the front mounted Kubota, John Deere, and Massey Ferguson snowblowers that I am aware of run off the mid PTO. I'm not sure about the other brands.

I now have 26 hours on the CK20 and I am amazed at what i have accomplished. I 've attached some pictures of the CK20 in action removing snow so access to homes along the lake can be accomplished. This snow is far from light. It's very concentrated because it has been handled so much and in addition to that it's got high water/ice content.

Hope you aren't getting tired of these snow shots but quite frankly it's what i have been all about because it won't stop snowing. Notice the compacted snnow in front of that garage door and i literally carved the trail down to that white house. That's Lake Michigan beyond but you won't see much water as it is iced over.

Thinking back to my decision between the Kioti CK20 or a Kubota BX24, Did I get the right tractor?
I'm thinking I did. The BX24 is beauty in her class but I needed a little extra heft for these types of things and the Kioti has thus far proven worthy.

Great pics Rimshot, keep them coming! Sure looks like you have been busy. It also looks like the combination of rear blower, and loader is working well for you in that packed snow. It is interesting to hear your comments as you gain more experience....... have you wished for a larger bucket yet? I sure did at times with my BX.

Tough winter there, for sure. I'm sure you're having a blast bullying that snow around with your CK20! I see a cab in your future.

Just be careful not to get too close to that garage door (and other things). The machine is so powerful, it'll do some real damage before you know it. When I plow my neighbors drives, I'm very careful to stay away from their buildings and vehicles.

Hi Chuck

LOL, larger bucket? You took the words right out of my mouth. And hopefully it will be one that doesn't jam all up with snow. Actually chuck, quick tap on the bare ground or asphalt with bucket looking down and out comes that jammed up
stuff.

One of my favorite techniques using the Fell rear blower set up is to go along and point the bottom blade of the bucket down with boom held high. Kind of like you would plunge a dagger. Then I go along the row and thrust the bucket down in that old wind packed snow breaking off a well let's call it a wind row of snow. Now I zip back to the end of the line and aim my rear guns at the snow wind row i just made. (rear snowblower, engage pto, rev and back up). That darn particular snow is out of my life for good.

Darn good advice.

My rear snowblower did take a bite out of the brick molding round that yellow garage. Thankfully it was just a nick but hey! Snowblowers gotta eat too. Anyway, like you say all I would have do is have one mishap and it could be plenty serious. That blower scares the dickens out of me and that's just the way I want to regard it.

I used the FEL off the road only as I did not want any more pressure on that garage door which was bowed from all that snow. Then I got inside and grrabbed a snow shovel the old fashioned way. The snow got shoved oout away from the door for a finish pass to clean it up.

I need to come up to the UP for a snow fix. We had rain and 45 degrees in southeast Michigan over the weekend.

Keep the Pic's coming. We never get tired of pic's!
