JB Weld, Steel Stick Or Similar to Seal Very Minor Propane Leak?

I have a very minor leak at the point of the red arrow. Just barely bubbles with leak liquid. Odor is very faint. Supply line/tank is to the right of the picture. This is the high pressure side before the second stage regulator feeding the house.

Obviously, the best way is to tighten that coupling, but that means breaking the union which means shutting the gas off and letting air in the line which will need to be purged. If JB Quick, Steel Stick or some similar fast setting epoxy type product will seal it, I could avoid all of that. Fittings are 3/4" Black Iron Pipe ( once I wire brush the pain off ). But even if they seal initially, will they hold up to LP over time?

None of that! You use gas leak goop on gas fittings which is available everywhere.

I often wonder why poor people are "unlucky." They cannot afford to call someone and at times cannot afford to do a job properly. They wind up "making do".

Some people are ignorant and do not know better.

I saw a friend help another friend with a propane heater install. It was "interesting". Ended up leaking after a couple of weeks but the leak was outside. This same guy powers his one room cabin with a single 115V outlet connected to a drop from the power pole. Power comes from an outlet on the pole and he uses a double male extension cord run on the ground to get the power to an outside receptacle to feed the interior circuit. He has lost a freezer full of food twice.

When I was selling propane, a customer called from his work to report a propane leak in the basement of his house. He smelled it, shut the door and left.

So I was working for $5.48 an hour in 1986 and the boss told me to go fix it. Man was I nervous.

I blocked open the front and back doors and went to town for coffee to let the house air out.

It was a quick fix but it sure was a bad spot to be in for a while.

Years ago I heard a propane leak in an enclosed space to use a broom and sweep it out the door since it's heavier than air.
