JB Weld, Steel Stick Or Similar to Seal Very Minor Propane Leak?

I own everything, including the tank. 'High Pressure' is whatever comes off the first stage regulator at the tank, not sure what that is, but not a lot.

I installed all of this a year or so back and it wasn't leaking then. Probably some settling or temperature fluctuations worked it loose just a hair. You almost can't even see the bubbles at first, just a slight fizz after a few minutes.

I've though about just two wrenches to tweak it a bit, but not sure if that will break the union free ... which would not be that big an issue to crank it back down.
In that case I wouldn't hesitate to shut it down at the tank, release the pressure then replace the union or re-seal it. Still not JB Weld.

Spring of 2021, my neighbors house blew up due to a propane leak. It was a horrendous blast felt miles away.

Neighbor has been rebuilding but still has not moved in due to various delays in construction. He will be moving back in soon but without his wife. She perished in the blast.

Fix it right and get the whole system inspected and certified.
There was a case here about 20 years ago when somebody was at his vacation homes checking to see why the "No Heat" alarm went off. He flushed the toilet, apparently to ensure the water wasn't frozen. Then went outside to check the propane tank. That's when the house blew up. I believe that he was on the back side of a shed so was uninjured; but it took his log cabin completely apart and threw pieces across the yard.

Brass? And why? What's the purpose of the union if it's brazed? Not sure how you would adequately purge that before hotting it up.

Just replace the parts.

Fix it right. Only change of JB weld to hold IMO is to shut the gas off anyway. The pressure of the leak wont allow the JB to seal I dont think. Right now it isnt under pressure or leaking much because its escaping to atmosphere. But try and contain it with a blob of JB weld now it will build pressure before the JB sets.....and find its way to atmosphere.

So if your shutting gas off anyway.....fix it right.

That's why I was looking at Steel Stick or some other similar product, maybe fuel rated. More of a solid product, epoxy putty rather than a liquid.

I'll see what happens with wrenches. There is another valve beyond the union but before the line enters the house, so maybe if I close both, it might keep the house from bleeding down.

Line is 15 feet from the house, so no risk issue.

There's a difference between "fixing" and "gumpin"... the latter a term used long before the movie.
JB Weld is good for many things. A gas leak is not one of them. Also, there's no such thing as a "very minor propane leak"... either it's a leak or it isn't.
Very true, but as I said twice I'd replace two nipples & union using thread sealant. 15 minute job.

1 K to repair that ? LOL I need to come out of retirement is that's what the going rate is now days
You know what I meant. Two groups: a major operation involving gas company or do it yourself 15 min. $15-$20.

I had a leak similar to that. I called the gas company and told them about the leak. They were out right away and replaced the union and 2 nipples and I think the valve as well. Cost me $85. I was a bit miffed that it cost me that much because the installation (that they did) was less than a year old, just wasn't worth the aggravation to argue $85 and they were the only ones around that would sell me an underground tank anyway.

my cost would have been about $275.00 to come out, disconnect, repair, pressure check, purge air and check appliances
