You have both been most helpful. I found the plate sketch yesterday, and have down loaded that ready to make the shield. I would have thought, by now JD would have done something like this. But then again one has to think of the profit for the dealers I suppose. I phoned my dealer this am to see if such a plate existed and was told they do not have one, nor have they heard of fans being broken!
As to the bolts again I have taken a look at what are there and should be able to get some of the same grade locally. At least I hope so.
I will put up the details of the cab once made, in case anyone else would like to make a similar unit. I did something like this for the Sabre and in this climate it helps to keep the wind and blowing snow of one.
