JD2320 DIY PB kit

The John Deere power beyond kit for my tractor lists for $304 CDN. Looking at the kit and reading and gathering knowledge from the expert members here I think one can build their own PB kit at substantial savings. I'm hoping this thread (with the help of others) will become a DIY PB Kit shopping list.

Am I correct that to go from my stock JD2320 valve to having PB flow in basic form requires adding one plug into the valve block and two fittings onto the bottom PB ports? On looking at the LVB25603 PB kit (see attached) this looks like:

#23 - PT13744 plug = $4.42
#19 - M808055 fitting = $98.12 x 2 = $196.24
#18 - M809071 fitting = $30.43
Total $231.09

The plug cost is reasonable and I guess only a JD part. Fine. The fitting prices seem to take the bulk of the kit cost. Are there cheaper fitting alternatives and if so, what exact vendor part numbers have you found work best?

Yes, you can do it without the JD "kit", just like Jim did in the one post I linked in your other thread. You will need the "plug" (it's just a little set-screw) form JD. The fittings are standard-but I don't remember what they are-ORB I think but not 100% sure, they don't need to come from JD.

What size hoses (1/4 or 3/8) does JD supply in their PB kit?

For the record...... $300 doesn't sound that terrible. I'm sure I had the better part of $200 in fittings and hoses when I did mine on my Kubota. Considering the JD kit will have the JD fit an finish....... might not be a bad option, considering.

I think the equivalent fittings and hoses of the JD kit will come in around $50 priced from Surplus Center. The actual pieces required are minimal. There is only one part that must come from JD and thankfully this cost $1.35 CDN. The rest are standard hydraulic fittings and hoses simply grossly overpriced by JD.:confused2:

In most case that is 100% correct since it includes the QD's and brackets...But he just needs the hoses to feed a valve so he would not use most things that are included in the kit.
