Re: Jim\'s Pole Barn Project - hopefully

Another shot looking in through the left front door. Do you think my cement will be strong enough when poured to the top of those drain pipes? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Jim\'s Pole Barn Project - hopefully

Here you can get a perspective of how much the front of the garage had to be "raised." Got me into a couple of situations a couple of times when I was trying to fill enough to get up over the floor drains - especially one I pulled them up enough to get me some slop on them. Probably not "enough" slope, but they do work. I've run water through all of them to make sure I hadn't collapsed them or squished them down into the fill to much to lose the slope that I had added to them. What I meant by a couple of situations was had the tractor in a position that had me puckering a little bit, the tractor didn't really seem tipsy, but didn't feel real comfortable for me.

Re: Jim\'s Pole Barn Project - hopefully

Here is another shot toward the front with the doors down. Doesn't look like it, but there sure is a whole lot less gap then there was before.

Re: Jim\'s Pole Barn Project - hopefully

I've started doing some rough fill around the outside. I've got a call in to get the spouting (continous) install next week. Then I can start doing some final grade. What I eventually want is to build it up so that you can't even tell it is built up. I just want a nice gradual slope.

The Northeast rear corner. If you compare this to some of the other shots you can see how much our "flat" ground runs downhill. Sure did make people question why I built the garage up so high. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Here is the dent I made in the pile of spoil left from the interior.

Re: Jim\'s Pole Barn Project - hopefully

Here is my TC24 along with his new best friend the box blade being especially proud of all of the work they had done over the past few days.

One note on the little 12LA loader strength. It has been questioned here on TBN, "Has anyone every gotten a load of something that the loader wouldn't lift?" Prior to this weekend no, but after this weekend yes. But at the same time even with the loaded rear tires (WW fluid) and the 450#+ box blade, I was still able to pull the rear tires up on occasion. So all in all, I think it is balanced pretty well for this size tractor.
