I am looking to change the oil and filters on my Jinma 254. Where are the best places to buy them? Are there NAPA or other after market filters that fit? Mine has, Engine Oil filter part # JX0707 Hyd. Filter # JX0811A and fuel filter # HECX0706. Thanks, Ash

Which engine? If it's the YangDong Y85 series, you can use this list to start from:

Oil Filter - NAPA= 1516 ($6) Purolator= PL20195 ($6)
Fuel Filter - NAPA= 3195 ($11) Purolator= F50284 ($10)
Air Filter - NAPA= 2276 ($24) Purolator= A42019 ($15)
Prices are probably a bit outdated though

Here are the US equivalent filters I use on my tractor which is a 2003 model. Give them a try. You can cross them over to your favorite brand.

Air= Purulator A42019
Oil= Fram PH3950 Size of filter is different but threads and O-ring are the same. All that matters.
Fuel= Fram P6503

My tractor did not come with a spin on hydro filter/strainer. I added one but its aftermarket and my filter is on the return side and is not the same so no help on that one. I do know you do not want a filter, you want a hydraulic stainer since its on the suction side and I think the recommendation is 10 micron but not sure.

I went to my local NAPA dealer and they crossed the fuel filter with there 3195 and engine oil filter 1315. They couldn't cross the hyd filter though.

Try a Napa 1553 30 micron for the hydraulic ;)

Not if it's on the suction side - he'll risk cavitating (starving ) the pump. Some folks recommend 125-150 micron. I found I have acceptable cold weather flow with 80 micron, but I wouldn't go any smaller. If it's on the pressure side, that's a different story.

So give him the numbers of the filters Greg :mad:-- this is the filter I run when above freezing and it has worked fine for a couple of years now -- it is cheap enough that I throw it away in the fall . If you are afraid of it causing a problem or want to run larger micron screen type filter, Donaldson make a 1" - 12 thread wire mesh 150 micron filter that fits and costs about $25 CDN here. It is a Donaldson P25550274. Napa also have a 1614 that is more wide open and fits on my 2006 284 -- it too is an expensive filter. By the way on this debate in the past, nobody seems to be too sure what the micron rating of the original filter is :eek: I have never measured my return hydraulic flow to see if it is "acceptable" but I did a lot of research to find filters that fit and oil that met the specs outlined by some "experts" only to find it based on opinion not reality.

Ain't none, it's 80x80 brass mesh. I buy it in bulk and make replacements myself. But regardless of the form it takes, 80 microns is 80 microns

How often have you changed your air filter? I have just been blowing mine out with compressed air. Richard

I find mine effective for at least two years, but that obviously depends upon local working conditions. Compressed air should only be used if you're able to blow from the inside out (same with a radiator). Otherwise you just drive the grit farther into the paper. Usually I just tap mine on a tire to shake off the big stuff, then look through the hole to see if sunlight still makes it through the paper. If it doesn't, the filter gets changed. It usually took over two years to get that dirty, so now I simply change them every other fall.

Greg -- it would be great to see pictures of the process of making spin on filters from bulk screening -- sounds like a great way to save $20:rolleyes:

Where did you get the idea that I have spin-on hydraulic filters? KAMA and TaiShan (and Foton) use 80 micron mesh-wrapped inline filter cartridges. It's not too hard to guess what motivated your suggestion. But if you're truly interested, I've got an uninstalled spare that I can photograph.

Just as 80 micron is 80 micron, filtration is filtration. Why should it matter if it's spin-on or cannister? The only point I was trying to make is that the 80 micron supply side hydraulic filtration on my current two tractors seems to work just fine with cold AW32

Just curious if you had your choice between oil bath or paper air filter. What would it be?

Personal choice? Paper. I've had incidental experience with the oil bath type on old Fords, and found them just too messy

Greg --my suggestion was motivated by the fact that the OP wanted a hydraulic filter cross reference that I am pretty sure is a spin on and I am pretty sure would be very hard to make from screen JMHO:eek:
