Howdy,

Some of the confusion over whether Jinma makes such and such chipper, or Jinma makes or doesn't make an 8", or a Jinma looks like this but not this...could be caused from multiple machinery companies in China making basically the identical chipper, or at least off of the same basic blue prints. There is no great 'Jinma Chipper Factory' in China that employs hundreds of people turning out an assembly line production of the chipper, or possibly even the Jinma tractor itself, but a handfull of small machinery companies
making them. If you go to

chipper - Products for chipper - Manufacturers, Exporters, Suppliers, Traders, Companies, Factories

[ scroll down and look at each supplier ]

or do a search for Chinese chippers, and look at the Chinese supplier sites.

Just my 2 cents.....anyway, something to think about.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but all those companies look to be Chinese trading companies... importers & exporters, basically... selling the product rather than all being actual physical manufacturers of the same identical product (i.e., the WC-6). This does not rule out multiple factories... an interesting dilemma for potential buyers here if true... but I'm not sure if this is the "smoking gun" proof.

wood chipper Manufacturer, Buyer, Supplier, Importer, Exporter, Manufacturers, Buyers, Suppliers, Importers & Exporters - ECPlaza

Here is another one, if you scoll down, you will see several machinery or manufacturing companies with pictures of the chipper they make. All are simular units. Some of the listings are exporters, but The Hubei Fotma Machinery Co [for instance] makes an identical chipper as the Jiangusu Yueda Yancheng Tractor Manufacture Co.,Ltd.[that's the former Jiangsu Yueda Yancheng Tractor Factor.] [don't make me type that again]

I came across a list of the machinery companies one day, and some of were listed as having only 11-12 employees. If I can find the link again, I will add it to the stew. Anyway, just something to chew on.

Hi Jerry - Hubei Fotma Machinery Co appears to be just another trading company. I don't see where they make anything. Remember, they are very loose with their English language terms, use of photos and company descriptions. I'm not disagreeing with your contention that there are multiple factories making WC-6 chippers. That's quite possible. I am not smart enough to know one way or the other. I just don't think this is good proof.

As yet another tractor owner interested in these chippers, I'm wondering what is the deeper message here. Suppose there are multiple factories. Should we be looking to buy product from one and not the others? Is there any way to figure out where one comes from... and if it is one of the better or best ones... before ordering? Are some safe & reliable and others not? Any help here would be most appreciated! :)

Dougster,
Since you're in Taxachusetts, I'd call Graham at Bolton Power. I think he stocks them and he's been selling Chinese tractors and stuff for awhile.

He is certainly close... but, unfortunately, he is also very expensive... and I am very poor. :(

I'll likely be forced to do an eBay thing.

Dougster,
If you get one, and don't mind, I'd like to see it in operation. We don't live too far apart.

Dougster,
Just seems curious that there are several different pallet sizes, some wood based, some all steel...and a couple different styles. Just pays to keep your mind open to the fact that we MAY be seeing chippers from more than one source. Kind of like the black trailers that are made and sold here in the U.S.
I have no clue if any are made better than the other, probably depends alot on what kind of mood the worker is in that particular day. :)

Well, son of a gun... It appears that I just "won" one on eBay a few minutes ago! Holy cow! I thought I'd be overbid for sure! Where were all those interested bidders from last week?

So... You can not only come down to see it! You can come down and help me put it together! :D Looks like it's going to take a while to get here though... the seller is now stating that he is out of town for the next week or so. :(

Well, as you can see from my previous post... looks like I just accidentally "won" one of the dang things. This was a bit unexpected as I had already made an appointment to go look at a used stand-alone chipper later today. Guess I should call the guy and cancel???

Time to pray for me now that I got one of the good ones and not some cheap Chinese copy... ... of a cheap Chinese chipper!?!

OhMyGawd!!!!!!!!

Congrats...on your new chipper. Remember the eye and ear protectors when you get it running. And, no matter how much you like it, don't try to mate with it when it is running........

Thanks Jerry! :) I'll post a full report after I get it up and running. I'll let you know if there are any clues as to source or brand or differences from what I saw down at the dealership in CT.

I really hope I made a smart move here. I guess only time will tell.

I was just stroking ya! :D I'll have that dang Chinese copy of a Chinese chipper contraption up and running in no time at all. It ships the afternoon of the 11th... should be here no later than the 18th (I hope).

Thanks to you, I've already made Ranch Hand's Chinese chipper set-up and troubleshooting page a favorite! And I've read all the Chinese chipper bugs, quirks and recommendations here on TBN as well. If I can't make this silly thing hum, I'll hang up my mechanical engineer's boots for good! :)

Thanks JPM. Obviously, you've already got one! Any specific tips for running one off a Mahindra 4110 other than the general tips & lessons learned already posted here? :)

Mine is going to a depot rather than coming directly here to the house. Assuming I can get my equipment trailer out of my driveway by the 18th (they are rebuilding... more like destroying... my street and it is currently "trapped"), it will be loaded onto my equipment trailer with a forklift at the depot. I'll just need to get it off the equipment trailer and into the driveway where I can uncrate it and assemble it. Seems that the FEL should be able to handle 900 pounds or so of crated Chinese chipper... yes? :) If too awkward, I can uncrate it right on the 20-ft equipment trailer and take it off in pieces.

I haven't read all the improvements , but in case this wasn't in them, I put a baffle on each side of my feed roller at a steep angle. Here in the midwest the Honeysuckle vines are everywhere. The baffles help keep some of them from wrapping up around the feed roller as the limb goes in.
