She is a jewel. Rebecca and Chloe and I were leaving Mikim's house just after Jim and Kathy arrived for Mikim's gate building get together. She was making sure Jim and her Grandson had a plate. Then she took a few slices of watermelon and gave them to me, before she even ate. This was late afternoon and I know she was hungary, as they had been on the road all day. But she took the time to get some fruit for some folks she just meant. She is AWESOME.

Well, as usual, I'm forever playing catch-up and only now found this thread. But I have to add my admiration and respect for those of you looking out for Jim and for the work you did. You Texans have a way of setting a great example for everyone else. And, Jim, there's probably more than a few other TBN folks who'd be there to help if they could, although it's not at all clear they could improve much on the crew that did show up. Thanks for sharing this and God bless.

Grandad4-- Thanks for the kind thoughts. You know Texans don't like to brag.......OK maybe a little. But this is an example of Texans just being Texans. The guys that showed up to lend a helping hand are the best of the best, and my hat is off to all of them.

Jim I'm sorry to hear your having some health issues. Who would have thought all those years ago when we started following TBN that it would lead to these types of friendships. Absolutely inspiring everyone. I'm proud to call ya'll friends even if it is just through the internet.

A day does not go by that we don't use the wheelchair lift. Having it installed by all of our TBN friends has given us our freedom back. We can go out and enjoy the deer, the fox family living under our cabin, birds, and feed the catfish while taking mule (4 wheeled) and golf cart rides. It is wonderful!! I can't begin to thank all of you enough. You all gave us a great gift, especially your time, hard work, and support. We do appreciate you and thank you sincerely!!

Seriously, the hero in this is Jim. I think I can speak for everyone when I point out that if any of us were the one in Jim's shoes he would be the first one in line to help out. He is the reason it happened the way it did. I believe anyone reading this thread would have to come to the conclusion that first and foremost it is all about a team and he is our leader.
The award mean we were right, Jim is the man.

That was exactly what I was thinking as I read the story. Great job on the lift and great story. Maybe that show on RFD Texas Country Reporter should do a story on you guys.

First let me put my vote in for Jim as well. We all know that for years now if you had a problem with your New Holland - Jim is our go - to guy. ....Briana - these friendships started at our first get together in Wylie in Sep 2004. Since then there have been several and although we're separated by miles, we keep in touch here as always and we stay close in our hearts & minds. Whenever we do get together - after a year - 2 or even 3 - it's like we just saw everybody yesterday. This site has created a community of like minded people of similar attitude and ethic and it should not be a surprise that it boiled over into reality friendships. I count the friends I've made here as some of the closest I have.....and glad of it.
