John Deere 2006 4520 with 1000 hours

The tractor will only go 14 mph in high rang and when I try to use the cruise control I get a 5 error code on dash

If it’s got tail lights, check them to make sure they lite up when the pedal is mashed.
No tail lights = no cruise..

lights work and not on when I try the cruise do you think the cruise has something to do with the top out speed only going14 mph i just purchased this tractor I hope I didn’t buy someone big headache

I would start by checking the trans/hydraulic fluid level, then if that's good changing the hydraulic filter along with cleaning out the hydraulic pickup screen and checking for any external pickup rubber siphon elbows for leaks.
Does the hydraulics or steering make a whining or squealing noise?

Did you buy it from a dealer, or a wheeler dealer, meaning a tractor flipper or someone who bought it new, and decided they didn,t need it any longer ?
