So I bought the Echo CS-620 and ran one tank so far.
Feels heavy when hauling to the cutting site, but well balanced when cutting with the 24" bar.
Just recieved from UPS today . A Shindaiwa 600SX I ordered online 24" bar also . Same saw as Echo CS620 . Two rings on piston etc . Of course haven't ran it yet . I felt like I got a good deal .
No one's asked me but I 'am goin to say it . $559 delivered , tax and shipping included , branded Red .

I love that nobody knows about certain good saws out there. 😆 Had to put in another piston today after a tear down to see what was up with the stuck ring.
These saws were way ahead of their time IMO. 1984 Partner 5000 plus and I had a 1979 5000 open port that was strong or stronger. This makes about 15 or more of these I have had now. Keeping a few back, well maybe.

I really like the guys that pass on the Poulan Pro 325 which is a Partner 5500. :licking:😆

Just a few.

Partner are/were fabulous saws. I bought one that had been run over by a truck but sustained only minimal damage - then used it for 15 years before it finally went to the big crankcase in the sky

I will say it is a world of difference faster on the bigger Ash trunks than the 490.
And I felt less worn out while using it.
Good power, didn't bog down in the rotted core of one trunk like the 490 would.
Noodled a smaller, 2 feet long by 10" or so Ash crotch, fast, and NO clogging like the 490.

Now the 490 will be used for smaller stuff and as backup.

I might even try and get the old craftsman 49 cc working, not sure what is wrong with that yet. Could be carb or coil.
Didn't see spark, but have not spent any time with it.
My Echo 590 is terrific too - heavy but effective. Here in OZ we are cutting extremely hard timber but as long as the chain is sharp, this saw hardly notices

My favorite saw. I use one often.

That is a fairly big saw to be up in a tree with.

ok, need opinion.
Looks like I scratched the piston on my 49cc, 18" bar Craftsman.
I see grooves when I take the exhaust off and ring looks damaged too.

Worth fixing, might need a new clamshell, piston and ring?

Anyone know cost for parts?

I already have 2 saws and this was a backup for a while.
Not heavily used for the last 3 years. So surprised it self destructed.

Redneck fix to try and fix the cracked up af cover.

Much better and runs like new again. Owner will be happy.
