I don't know who the manufacturer is.... Its a wet sleeve 154 Cubic Inch motor. I never worried about who built it as long as I could get parts in a reasonable amount of time. I do believe the new Mahindra engines come from somewhere else. Boils down too this.... I don't really know. I will probably find out if/when I get into it.

No, Beenthere... By the serial number it shows to have been built in '67. We bought it at the big auction in Idabel OK. Hauled it home and rebuilt it in my shop. Nothing runs like one of those old Deeres with a a 6 cylinder motor.. quiet, low RPM.. smooth... and tons of power. Its rated at 116HP but we turned a little more fuel to it to go along with the new Turbo.
Can you say stump puller? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We became a Mahindra dealer about 4 years ago when they were just entering the market and really growing. The reason we decided not to carry them was due to the fact that the frist three units we sold all came back within one month with warranty problems, and not just small simple problems. We just didn't feel confident carrying them anymore.

I am not judging Mahindra by the bad experiences we had (or the units we repared after we weren't a dealer), and I am not familiar with the units they sell now. That was our experience, take it as you may...good luck with your motor!

we had to do the lumberjack bit to get enough room to manuever the big JD. Here we see if we have enough chain.

and here we are on the way to the house. I got it to my dealer Saturday morn. They actually think Mahindra may help out on some of the repair since it has so few hours and I bought it new. First though we have to find out what broke.

talked to the dealer today. The motor is fine. The hydraulic pump locked up! Took out a few gears in the accessory drive and of course I'll need a new pump. I still plan on contacting Mahindra to see if I can get a little help on this. I'll let y'all know.

I would think it is much better the problem is with the pump than with the motor. The dealer I spoke to said Mahindra is very good about helping with out of warranty repairs.
