Soooo....... all the folks in their snow cats stopped to try the ski jump??? I MIGHT be OK at that height but you will never get my fingers pried off the hand rails.

The stop at Copper Peak is always fun. This is actually a ski flying hill but don't ask me the difference. Maybe higher? Powderhorn ski area is the general ares these rides took place. Here are photos on the dogs blog from 2 years of snowcats rides there.

In the middle photo of tracks, this fellow had crossed the trail not long before we skied past. The sno-go is the street we live on

Like to see more snow photos? Of course, I'll be posting repeats soon.

ArlyA in one of the pics from far away , looks like you are useing a Honda track snowblower ? What can you say from your experience out there say that track one vs a pro type model single wheeled (with chains) . Have you ever owned an Ariens / Toro ? I hear Yamaha makes real good ones but not sold to the US markets and you have to buy them and bring them across from Canada ? In other words I would like to hear about your UP hands on experience breif comments on snowblowers if possible ? Heated grips / the little shelf walk behind cab / two stage / three stage ? Thanks !

If someone else built a blower with a hydrostatic transmission, I'd consider it. Yes, its the tracked version of snowblower from Honda but I see they've changed the more recent models. There might be another manufacturer who does hydrostatic trannies, but I can't recall who that is now. When you are trying to blow snow, speed control is paramount. I owned and used, friction wheel type transmissions blowers before and will not again. Low gear is to fast, high gear to slow and the changing between the few gears they offer is cumbersome.

I purchased a honda some 20+ years ago and put many, many hours on it. It was eventually showing its age so I sold it and got another. I should add that I don't use it nearly as much since we put a blade on our 6x6. You see, it snows here most days all winter but just a little. When you get, lets say 3", its not worth blowing and I'd tend to let it lay, for compression. Doing this is not really good idea. With the boss n blade, I now can push these daily dustings to the side in minutes. Serious snow fall still need to be blown.
