Thanks for sharing the info and pics . I enjoy them I have family in "Pelkie" and Muskegan .......................I could be wrong mistaken but the other day they where telling me about an up and coming smelt and sucker "run" they look forward to "can" ?

Your pictures remind me of the descriptions of the winters, my father talked about, while he was growing up in Marquette. Houses with front doors on the second floor.

That your father talked about, must be up the hill from Marquette, like Negaunee or someplace higher. Lake snow doesn't really fall along the lake shore where Marquette is. Memories are an interesting thing.

That could very well be that my memory of where he said he grew up and my memory of his snow storied could be suspect. I know he lived in a couple different areas in Michigan before settling down and moving to Marlette, where i was born.
