I thought that I might have to send my GP100 back to Ruger, and they told me that they could only send it back to a licensed dealer.
Fortunately my local gunsmith was able to fix it for me. đź‘Ť
I bought one and the serial number is also my zip code. It's like winning the lottery except money left my wallet not the other way around.

I dropped mine about 4 feet with the cylinder open. I thought that I might have bent the crane, which would have required sending it back. I just checked the Ruger website again and am not sure why I thought I'd have to go through a licensed dealer. Luckily it was a simple fix done by a local gunsmith, apparently some screw had loosened up.

The moral of the story is, don't drop your gun.
From what I’ve heard, Rugers have a lifetime warranty and you can ship to the factory for repairs anytime. Good that your issue was simple and you didn’t have to ship it.

Tell me why I should not get one.
They are the it gun for a lot of the cool kids but I'm unsure.

I have a full size Kimber Crimson Carry Ultra as my carry pistol. Never had an issue with it but I did replace the main spring to lighten the trigger pull. I think it's a sharp gun myself.
