And here you can see the 1/2" bars are bent from using it as a ram I might straighten them before I use it again

The box section has rectangular holes on the top and bottom for each tine, however, the wall thickness on the box section is only 1/4". It will be 7/16" when I get done with it. The box itself is about 3" tall and 4" wide.

Your box looks to be made of welded plate. Mine is a rolled/seemed tube.

I can't complain about mine I have really abused it and it takes whatever i give it. It could use a paint job, but so could most of the toys I have. I have had the front wheels of a case 470 tractor off the ground many times after snagging something that didn't want to move. I have had chains on it pulling trees out of the ground, I show no mercy when I use the tractor. the 7/16" should make a big difference. I have a scoop I bought at the same time and I broke it the second time I used it. I added some steel to it and it is still going strong.

Long time reader, first time poster.

I am not surprised to see this at all. I just bought a '67 Oliver 550 a few month ago. My buddy was grading his yard, first gear crawling, with my shiny new MidWest BB20 box blade. He caught a root and tore the steel like paper.

What's crazy is that I had caught it up on some stuff before and hadn't had a problem. I reckon that whether your stuff says Land Pride, KK or MidWest on the side, the same thing would happen. Break out the welder and put a patch on it and remember that it isn't show equipment.

Welcome to TBN Oliver550. I think Midwest made my Kioti boxblade and it's nice and tough. Seems to take a lot of abuse, but I'm sure under the right circumstances, mine can get like DIYguy's. John

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( Hi
I have a kk box blade and the part the tines go thru is a box looks like made from 1/2" steel.

Looking at your pictures it looks like the steel used for the box is much thinner than 1/2". Isn't it the same thinkness as the metal that is bent out to hold the tine retaining pins? Or is more metal welded onin the inside that is not visible. Your box is built the same way my Landpride is and the point that eventually goes is the unreinforced part of the box where the tine touches on the upper side.

Hi I will measure it tomorrow, but I have abused it more time than I can count and I don't see any wear to speak of in that area.
