Ok great thanks for the clarification. Also would there be any advantage to going with the ck4010 as opposed to the 35? Obviously the 5 more horsepower for 1000 dollars more. But are there really any benefits to having those 5 extra horsepower?

People ask this all the time. Roughly 15% more HP (5HP in this case) gets you a foot wider PTO implement capability, Weight equals traction, so very common for people to say that the 35HP tractor can pull the same as the 40HP, and when the weight is the same they are right, BUT the 40HP machine will pull that same weight faster. So ultimately while they will do the same tasks, they will not do those same tasks at the same rate of speed.

Just my :2cents:

I agree. A 15% increase in power for a 5% increase in price.

Oh, and someone will come along and say "just buy a quick hitch and be done with it." Great idea except my Gannon box blade is not quick hitch compatible.

A quick hitch certainly can take a lot of the frustration out of attaching and detaching implements. But for a quick hitch to really work, you have to either (1) commit to buying only quick hitch compatible implements (which eliminates many of those great Craigslist finds), or (2) be willing and able to modify your implements to make them quick hitch compatible.

The easy alternative is to go with a Pat's Easy Change and then you don't have to worry about implements being compatible. It makes hooking up even heavy implements super easy....much easier than extendible lift arms and stabilizers. Some folks don't like the additional length they add, but there is an option for weld-on that maintains the stock lift arm length.

Talked to the Kioti dealer again today, really impressed with them. I was asking him also about the Dk series tractors and he said that they don't make the Dk 40se anymore? But they are still on Kioti's website? just wondered what the deal was with that?

Thanks again for all of the input

A few dealers here and there still have a DK on the lot, so that's probably why Kioti has kept them on their website.

Back in July, my dealer near Springfield, Mo, had quite a few of them.

I want to throw this out to you. Early in this discussion some folks said get the kioti and spend the 6k difference on implements. Well I can tell you that I just spent 7 k on implements today and it was a big bite to take. I have just purchased a Kioti and if I had purchased a Kubota for 7-10k more, then had to spend another 7 K I'd be tipping over the edge. Now I'll leave you to the agony of figuring out what kind of tractor you want to buy.

Aturne67 your profile shows you have a TYM T354...... what made you decide this over the Kioti or Kubota? Just curious.

I didn't see mentioned that a CK35 (not a 10 series) has a telescopic 3PH, cruise control, suspension seat, split brakes, tilt wheel, QA bucket, among its many features. I'd try to buy a CK35 before any of those stripped down x10 models. They have more features and a bit more weight and aren't tier-4 machines.

The CK3510 does not have telescopic 3pt or cruise as standard, but does have all the other features you list, along with the capacity to use the KL4010 loader which has better specs than the KL130 loader the CK35 uses. Telescopic 3pt would be nice, but cruise is a "luxury" option on a tractor this size. ALL the options should be considered when choosing a tractor, not just the tractor specs themselves.
