I think it is great that a "minor" tractor company draws so much attention. At least every 2 weeks there is some post either here or in another forum stirring up about Kioti. Every 2 weeks something seems to come up. Can't wait to see what is next.

To20Chris . . . You will get no real arguement from me on your thoughts. I'm not sure it is as dire as you think and I think there are other factors, but both you & I are following somewhat similar lines of thought and we both end up at a very similar conclusion. It boils down to the fact that we both see a bubble bursting at some point in terms of the growth of the compact tractor market.

What gets me is that there are a lot of NON KIOTI owners that seem to be worried about what will happen to the longevity of the KIOTI brand. What are their concerns about if they don't have to go to A/the dealer, get parts, etc.? Maybe it's just to stir the pot? What gives????

There are some of us that are not worried, but who have extensively looked at some of the models for the purpose of purchasing one. I fall into that category. I seriously considered a larger tractor as I lease a 32 acre field to a "real" farmer. I considred taking it back and farming it as a hobby and that would have requred a larger tractor. I looked at several brands of roughly 40hp machines, including Kubota, New Holland, Mahindra and Kioti (via CC). I generally like to play with tractors regardless of brand. So I've done some homework and I like the brand. Not particularly thrilled with the Kioti dealer, but love the CC dealer and as the tractor is the same, I'd gladly buy a Cub branded DK if it had HST but even without HST it was a very nice tractor. Now I will say, I don't see that I am <font color="red"> worried about what will happen to the longevity of the KIOTI brand. </font> But there are some of us out here who try to be somewhat objective about all the brands. I think I'm a pretty decent advocate for the brand despite my non-owner status. I recommend them when they fit the situation and the dealer is strong. And there are some models I simply think are very weak in face of competion, and some models that are excellent. But I also take the point of view that no brand is perfect, every brand has both strong and weak offerings, and the same strong machine may not be the best choice in one situation while it can be the best in a different situation.


Edit: By the way, on a parallel thought about NON-Kioti owners coming into the Kioti forums, what about Kioti guys going into other brand forums and posting things like "Take a look at a Kioti ..." and then screaming foul when non-Kioti owners come in to Kioti forum and post legitimate observations? Pot calling the kettle black?

Personally I do not look at any of the forums, I simply have a bookmark set to pull the the most current posts in chronological order. I look at the post itself and could really care less about the forum it is in. I helped a couple JD guys with a design of a tool box bracket over the past few days and they made me feel welcome. I try to point things out, add to the discussion, or incite different thought regardless of the forum. Maybe I am just not brand loyal enough for some folks?

Think about what you wrote. If nobody but Kioti owners were cared about the future of Kioti, then absolutely nobody but current Kioti owners would ever buy a Kioti. If only Kioti owners ever read a Kioti thread or looked at a Kioti dealer, your circle of fellow Kioti owners would indeed be small and quickly shrinking. Then Kioti would be in real trouble and would indeed go down the tubes. Rather than be smug and try to disenfranchise other tractor owners, perhaps you should be happy. Unless I'm mistaken, you would have a vested interested in whether they are in business.

Yeah, aint it great /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I love watching all these Kioti fans get their panties in a wad when a remark might be taken, even slighty, as negative toward their precious tractor brand. Unless you are doing cartwheels and singing the Daedong company song you have no place in the Kioti forum.

While Kioti makes a very good product they are still an off brand/third tier brand, not supported nearly as well as a major brand, and spotty dealer representation at best. I've not seen any Kioti tractor at work and have seen two dealers drop the brand. Kioti wants nearly or in some cases more money for their tractors as a major brand. So why not just buy the well supported brand from a good dealer that is not operating out of his barn. The last thing I would want to hear from a dealer if I had just spent 20k on a Kioti tractor and had a problem is "sorry sir we no longer handle the Kioti line but there is a new Kioti dealer about 200 miles away and he just got his barn/showroom cleaned out. I'm sure he will happily take care of your warranty claim". /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am badge blind as most everybody else is for the most part. I know that you two are, and give/offer a wealth of information on TBN.

My above reply does seem to come across in a negative way and most certainly was NOT meant to. BOTH of you gave good responses to it though /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I think that my point was geared more towards the fly-by-night posters that DO stir the pot. Give me an ABC or an XYZ, if it gets the job done, that's all that matters to me.

Can't we all just get along! I am definitely not brand specific. I own a 25-30 year old Yanmar. Does that mean I need to go back to my "corner" and stay out of all forums except Yanmar. No...I am just interested in what things are said about all brands. Growing up we had a Cub, JD, Kubota, and because I couldn't afford anything else; I now have a Yanmar (which makes compact tractor motors and running gear for JD). Darn good older tractor...but that is JUST MY opinion. However; this is not the only forum this happens in.

You obviously know more about Daedong than most of us do. I did not know they had a company song. Good job! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Seriously though, I seriously doubt that any other tractor company sells a 45hp 4x4 tractor delivered with loader for under 18,500. None I tested could even come close. The dealer situation is probably the biggest hangup with them. They are a very well built reliable machine. Cant deny that.
