blocking the rad or tarping in the hood or tarping the grill or any combination of the above is standard operating procedure in the cold weather. Just watch the temp and work out the details for the tarping and work happily ever after. No big deal. None.

Hold the phone! Is that a cab on your tractor I see for your avatar. If it is you are very likely running the cab heater. is that so? Those cab heaters will cause the engine to run much cooler. I have a CK2510 and miy engine can fail to warm very much with my heater on in the cab.

Covering part of the radiator is the best way to make it run warmer. I do the same thing with my Dodge pickup. Some times when I go snowmobiling the temps are so cold my truck would blow cold air. I cover half the radiator and then it blows hot. My tractor does blow real warm, but never hot when it's real cold outside. I have not needed cardboard yet for the tractor.
