Kioti Tractor Hours

Being in a "buying frame of mind" I have been tractor shopping recently. I really like the Bobcat. As I understand things, it is a "coyote of a different color".
Why did you select the Kioti over the Bobcat?

I bought Bobcat since we had a very reliable dealer in town, and the Kioti dealer was almost 50 miles west of here.

Good thing I did, the Kioti dealer went out of business last fall, now I would have to drive 70-80 miles east instead of almost passing it daily as I go to work

2011 CK30 HST with Woods Groundbreaker BH-70x and Kioti comfort cab with 107 hrs. Not sure we have time or the computer storage capacity for a full list of issues but I've aired them all on these forums previously anyway.

1) Replaced HST
2) New Starter
3) Hydraulic leak on the FEL (coupler).
4) Stripped bolt on the front wheel.
5) Glow plugs intermittently fail. (not fixed, but currently working)
6) Temperature gauge doesn't work (not fixed yet)
7) Hydraulic leak, likely in the seal that connect both halves of the tractor. Will likely require removing the cab and splitting the tractor again. (not fixed yet)

And then I got the new cab, and the list continues to grow...

8) Floor doesn't fit.
9) Missing parts and features

The 107 hrs have mostly been spent by the dealer trying to fix my tractor  with some landscaping, drainage digging, material moving and snow removal when my dealer lets me borrow it:laughing:

I'm not sour grapes, facts are facts and this is only a partial list that I can think of off the top of my head. I still love the tractor and hope one day it will chose to live at my house. I will say that unless I have a good 3rd year with it, I will be selling it before the end of my 4 year warranty.

dude, you have some bad luck

I have almost 200 hours in 2 years and my worst problem on my Kioti brother is the treadle is a bit lazy, but not bad enough to force me to screw with it yet

Good luck

My 2008 Kioti DK45 has 640 hours with no problems. I use it for logging, loading gravel, blowing snow, tilling, chipping, you name it.

But, most of the replies here show pretty low hours except for one that was 1600. My Massey Furg 165 (1974) has 12,600+ hours and works like a charm. It has passed the test of time. I hope my Kioti does that well. Of course, proper maintanence is a key.

As one can see, Kioti owners are very happy w/ their tractors and seem to put them through the test. There is no brand of tractor that is going to be flawless and pefect, and every once in a while you are going to have a "problem child". It happens w/ all of them including the other orange and green. I don't think you'll go wrong w/ a Kioti, and remember the 4 yr. warranty.

Jumpin in late....as usual.

Bought my 2010 DK 40SE w/fel in Feb of 10. 270 hrs so far. Have used it with box blade, rotory cutter, tiller, harrow, etc. I try not to over work it, ever. Have moved tons of wood. Only problem I've had thus far is the fuel gauge (sending unit) is bad. Looking to get another one now. Have had two other tractors, won't mention makes....but I will say, I LOVE MY KIOTI!!! It's the BOSS!

05, CK20 TLB, used commercially since new 1160 hrs, I have had no problems with this machine at all. It's used year round and works very hard, love it.

11 month old DS4510HS with 225 hours: no problems except for a faulty engine stop solenoid replaced under warranty.
So far, very happy with the tractor.

I'm a n00b. I got mine almost the last day of August 2011 and I've got 56 or 57 hours on it I think. I fear I'm one with more hours on TBN than on my tractor :(
(but I'm on TBN mostly when it is dark, or I am at w o r k ).

I broke a hyd line when a small cedar came through the grapple, and that also unscrewed a nut on the FEL & that eventually broke another nut/stud off, both of which the dealer fixed for free.

I bought a tractor earlier than planned, and bigger and newer than planned for VERY similar reasons to those the OP stated.

That said, I love my tractor and now that I'm not building horse fence (for a short while) I will get more hours again clearing my land.

I intend to use my tractor hard, and give it to one of my yet to be born grandkids when he/she takes over my property...

I really like my dealer (LaVoie in Ashland, VA) and they are a HUGE part of the equation. Bobcat is right at the exit off the freeway to my house, but I like the Kioti dealer better and that was 95% of my decision. Their actions AFTER the sale, and the way they've been with me about attachments etc. has proved I made the right decision. When I'm ready for my 2nd tractor, I will go to LaVoie & Kioti first to see what's availble to fit my needs at that time.

Lastly, SouthernIlTractor, Thank you for your service to this great nation. I truly appreciate your sacrifices and service keeping my family safer. God Bless you & yours and happy retirement!

Be well all,
David

Folks,

Thanks for all the information. It sounds like the majority of owners are pleased with their Kioti tractors and outside of one tractor that appears to be a lemon (that poor guy with the CK30 HST), they are solid machines.

It has been my pleasure to serve in the United States Air Force for the past almost 28 years. I can't imagine doing anything else, but this is a young man's game and it is time for me to be put out to pasture. You all have been a great help as I prepare for our next adventure living our dream on the old farm.

Be well,
Mike
