That is how we started out, sold the RV and after adding metal to the sides we now have enclosed parking for the tractors and the generator is now out of the way of the car and trucks.
thats a good idea. I'd do a gravel base for sure. I'll have to see what the excavation runs to see how i can finish it off. Thanks.A majority of RV ports are 20'x40'x12' in WxLxH dimensions, and are made of metal. Typically are custom ordered for customers specific color choice. You could place two such RV Ports in close proximity, and achieve 40'x40'x12' of covered parking. Projected Costs should range upto $4800 installed for each, or $9600 total. If you really have a bigger budget, you can then bring in gravel base for parking vehicles on, and do solar powered lighting around the structures for night lighting.
i hear you. Materials are getting crazy. I should have done this a couple of years ago, but I just decided to get a new tractor and am finally running out of room in the shed and garage! There’s gonna be nothing Low Cost about a 30x40 fully enclosed building with doors. I looked at the Versatube Standard Kit 30x42 and it was $19,600. And I doubt that was with doors. I just had a 30x40 lean-to built locally with 3 sides. 14ga square tubing, I-beams, and 24ga Galvalume for $14,000. I looked and looked for the best building with best price. Wood structures are now more expensive than steel. It was a tough decision on what I was gonna do. I’d LOVE to have a 30x40 fully enclosed with a concrete slab, but this is all I could afford right now. And I’m not complaining. It’s just the steel and wood market are Crazy right now. Absolutely Crazy, I tell ya! ! ! Oh yeah, and your gonna fill that thing up Muy Pronto with a tractor, atv, motor home, and boat.
My primary concern here is rodents, which do more significant damage to wiring and tubes (like my diesel fuel return line) more rapidly than weather does. I personally wouldn't build a structure that's not reasonably rodent-secure.
