I am also thinking it is perhaps a lifting eye or something like that.

Looks like a small block Chevy lifting bracket

x3 on Engine29 and Sawworcs. My 2006 DK45SC has two of those; I leave them on the FEL just in case...and periodically retighten the bolts so the brackets don't flop around.

I'll check on this over the weekend when I got back out there. Exactly where are these located on the FEL?

Reply from my dealer:

"This is a tie down that held the loader to shipping pallet. It must have been stuck to the loader frame. Just throw it away."

I will keep it as it might be useful in the future.

Thanks for all of the good responses.

I'll try to remember to take a picture, since I've left these on my tractor. Its cold outside, though, so I may wimp out on picture-taking!

Here you go. My DK45 is a 2006; they must have changed the color of the bracket since then.

Thanks a bunch. That is the same bracket I found. However I never had one mounted anywhere near that location on either side of the FEL. I would have used it as a tie point, as you seem to do.

You bucket level indicator seems to be cut at a 45 degree angle where it faces the driver. If so, I would like that a lot better than my tube top that is just round and flat. Yours would make it much easier to level the bucket as the rod would be much more viewable.

It sure looks cold! Has been cold here also. But getting into the 50s and 60s this weekend :) And no, I am NOT comparing my cold to YOUR cold. Life is relative, I have found.

I have hydraulic lines running from the rear remotes up to the FEL for my grapple and keep them supported by a bungee hooked to that bracket.
I'm thinking of painting the very tip top of the level indicator bright white so it will be even easier to see if I'm working a bit late into the evening.
We had a couple of days this month where the temp briefly went up close to 50F (here, that usually means rain showers)...all it did was convert the December snow pack into ice. Today we're supposed to get to, or just above, freezing (without rain!), which will be a nice change. By Canadian standards, PEI actually has a pretty mild winter...though nowhere near as mild as on the BC coast.
