Kubota B2150 - Problems!

The clutch pedal may also not be well adjusted? Depressing part way should stop wheel motion, but keep the PTO spinning (after its back together you can check this without any attachments on). Depressing the clutch fully stops both wheels and PTO. The PTO doesn't have a brake, so it will coast down when disengaged. I engage my implements at about 1000-1200 and slowly bring revs up. Good luck!

What you are describing is a two-stage clutch. The Kubota specs for B7400, L2800, L3400, L4400, etc all show single stage clutches, so pressing partway down will NOT stop the wheel motion but keep the PTO turning as stated above. Maybe the 2150 has a two stage clutch but I can't confirm that.

I don't think the B2150 had a 2 stage clutch. It is pretty much a slightly newer model than my previous B8200HSTD; my B8200 did not have a 2-stage clutch.

I didn't think so either. I do think I made a mistake on the L4400 in my previous post. I believe it has an independent hydraulic actuated PTO clutch pack but I was right that it has a single stage clutch.

In any case, I agree with you that it is unlikely the B2150 had a 2 stage clutch.

Mine works as described, older gear model, maybe not all models were equipped for a live pto?

The B2150 gear has a 2 stage clutch /w a live pto and works as I described

So is this with gear, or gear and HST?

My old tractor was HST, I probably would not have noticed operationaly.

It is still an overrunning clutch internally?

Spent some time in the service department at my local dealer today and had a good look through the service manual. My tractor does have a two stage clutch as 8x56mn described above. I suspect that it is not properly adjusted. I've got the instructions on how to do this and am hoping to do it tomorrow night.

We've now reassembled the mid-PTO housing and put it back on the machine. We're not going to test it until we sort out the clutch, to prevent further damage!

Good to know. I have had two-stage clutches but not on Kubotas. I stand corrected...

Robert,
Mine doesn't act like an overrunning setup if I understand them correctly. The PTO slows in sync with the engine.

Any news?

Made the adjustment, no change :ashamed:
Looks like it's off to the dealer this week for them to have a look at it...
