Well, actually yes, it would be helpful if you said a bit more. First, though, are you sure about your purchase date? When I started this thread, I had just purchased one of the first B3350's available in Nevada, that was November of 2013. Where they available anywhere in Jan of that year?

If you don't mind me asking, why has yours had to go in 9 times? Mine, with 330 hours now, has gone in 3 times for updates. I do my own maintenance service, so it hasn't needed to go in for that.

I have been reading this and other topics on the B 2650/3350 and all the info seems to be about a year old. I am looking at both models and was wondering if some of the bugs for the regen has been worked out of the 3350. I only have 2 acres but plan to buy more later. Also the dirt/clay here is very hard when it drys. I want a tractor that is going to be able to till the dirt so I can smith out my yard over a few years. I just don't want to buy a tractor that is to small for the job but don't want one that I have to keep messing with all the time to get it to work. What would you guys suggest. This will be my first tractor. My neighbor has a 32 hp John Deere and it seems pretty good I just don't like how John Deere makes you pay a premium for there stuff if something breaks. Also I want to put a MMM and mow my yard.

I don't have a tiller now but had one on a L 235 Kubota a few years back , it had just a little less HP than my current 2650 . The L 235 was a hand me down from my dad who had market gardens for many years using that tractor. It had plenty of power for the tiller operations . It was a gear tranny so probably was pretty much equal to the 2650 hst for pto out put . I chose the 2650 as I live in a cold climate and didn't want to deal with regen, It always amazes me what this tractor is capable of . We have clay soil also but maybe not as hard as yours , that I don't know . Good luck

yes i had the date wrong, it was supposed to be jan 2016.

my tractor just returned from it's 10th trip to a repair shop.

i put over 4 hours on it this afternoon. the tractor now has 98 hours on it. hopefully my new dealer has all of the bugs worked out.
i'd like to get a few projects completed... it seems to be running great, no issues yet... hopefully there won't be any...

the first issue was a failure to complete a regen... new computer, wiring harness and updated alternator.

second issue was the auto regen button wasn't replaced with the new computer, causing the computer to fault.
i now have a new dealership handling my tractors repairs. they found that the auto regen button wasn't replaced with the computer.
my tractor now has a inhibit switch.

third issue was a hydraulic oil leak, due to the first repair shop not installing the cooler properly. when they had the front of the tractor apart installing the wiring harness and alternator.

hopefully all of the issues have been resolved...

update. the new dealer came out with the factory service rep. to try to resolve the regen problem. they installed a new thermostat. still wouldn't do a regen. next day the B3350 was taken to their shop. sensors replaced and wiring re-routed. as the first dealerships mechanic didn't do it right. anyway it's been over two weeks and they still couldn't get it to regen properly.
friday july 22 the factory rep called the dealer with a stop work order. the shop manager told me he should hear something by monday afternoon, about a trade down to a b2650 or a swap to a new b3350. i'm pushing for a trade down. no more epa garbage...

Sorry to hear you are having such problems, can't understand why they think a dpf or egr system is a good idea. The extra fuel burnt, manufacturing of those extra parts and replacement parts when they fail, taking them back and forth to a dealer, and so on will likely cause more pollution than a simpler engine was in the first place. Just because they don't see soot coming out the exhaust doesn't mean it's not producing it still.

The B2650 has lots of power and doesn't have all that stuff to worry about. Worst case you could delete your B3350 since it is still mechanical injection, but shouldn't have to do that.

   / Kubota B2650 and B3350 info and hints #247
actually the injection system is electronically controlled on a B3350, the B2650 is still mechanical.

actually the injection system is electronically controlled on a B3350, the B2650 is still mechanical.

The dosing pump is electronically controlled and wouldn't be needed if removing the dpf system, but the injectors are mechanical and not common rail going by Kubota's parts website. You would have to wire up the fuel shutoff to be controlled by the key like on a B2650, but don't see it being that difficult to do.

you may be right about the dosing pump. it sounds like a def issue, which the b3350 doesn't use.
still no word from the factory, about a replacement.. four days so far on a riding mower and now it's broke. the tall grass is just too much for it. standing up the grass is over my head. i would of had all of the grass mowed in a day, with the tractor. even with taking a 2 hr lunch nap.
the grass is starting to turn brown and becoming a fire hazard.

That's not good, hopefully they get you straightened out quickly.

Bumpern,
It appears I already have the brake switch installed and wired in to the main wire harness. The switch is already installed on the B2650

Randy,

That looks good. Unfortunately, since this moves the bucket down and back slightly in relation to the dipper, the changed geometry may not mate well with either the Kubota mechanical thumb or for for those of us who have added hydraulics to that thumb. The end of the thumb would hit higher on the bucket, instead of at the bucket teeth - should still work fine for picking up rocks, but maybe not so good for plucking out sagebrush and other deep tap rooted large plants - course, one could modify the thumb to fit better?

Bumperm,
I have the hydraulic thumb mod and I am still going to try it and will let you know how it works out. A 3 minute change or a 45 minute change to put the ripper on seems like a no brainer.

If it works with the BH77 and thumb, I'll probably buy one. It is a hassle changing buckets (though making a small "chaser", a short pin size plug with taper on each end to help hold the parts together so you can get the main pin through) make it more tolerable. Before I made the chaser, I used a suitable size socket for this, but the chaser with tapers works a lot better. . . . . I'm not even sure how I'd get through life without a metal lathe and mill, and welder and plasma cutter, and countless other tools that when I'm gone my kids will hold up and say, "What the heck is this for??"
