Kubota BX 2230
I know it's premature, but I'm trying to budget for a front snowblower for my BX 2230 and I was hoping some of you fine folks know a thing or two about them.

1) Approximate cost (manual versus hydraulic).

2) How long to install the quick hitch? Can it stay on while I cut grass with a 54" mid-mower in the summer?

3) How long does it take to attach/detach the snowblower?

4) Are their other brands of PTO driven snowblowers that will work well with my tractor?

Thanks.

Hi jam,

I ran a Bx2750 on my BX2200 and also my B7610. The cost I think is about $1,500.00 plus the quick hitch. It takes about 5 minutes to install the QH and shaft. It cannot stay on at the same time as the MMM, nor would you want it to. Do you guys in Jersey blow snow and cut grass at the same time? The blower takes about 2 minutes to hook up. Just about any 3 point rear blower 48" to 60" should work on the BX.

The 2750 is rather light duty. But I had no problems with it in 4 years of use.

See my pics below for some shots of mine on both tractors.

Nice shots. When you say "5 minutes" and "2 minutes", is that true??? It takes me a minute or so just to put fuel in the tank.

Thanks Tom. I'm a Met fan. Still willing to help?

Just like the MMM, the hardest part is attaching the PTO driveshaft from the blower.

It's a tight space and you have to do the 'pull the collar back while sliding the shaft on' routine.

Hence, the process could take 2 minutes if you are lucky or 10 minutes (and alot of frustration!!) if you're not.

Interesting, I find it very easy since the MMM is not on I can slide under the tractor and make the connection with ease. I find putting the sub frame onto the front of the tractor a real pain to get on and get all the pins aliened and into place. Also getting the sub frame connected to the snowblower is not fun.

My latest plan is to sell the loader to offset the cost of the snowblower. I really haven't used it much. However, a couple of people I've spoken to said that it's going to be hard to find a buyer for the loader because I'll need to keep the valves for the snowblower meaning the buyer will have to provide their own valves for the LA 211 FEL. You think there's any market for it?

Jay,

I think u will take a big hit selling just the FEL & if and when u ever decide to sell the tractor without a FEL another hit. Depending on the length of your driveway u may want to consider a 3 pt snowblower for about $1500. Downside u have to back up, given all the snow we have in NJ lately this may not be a problem.

Also the 2nd u sell the FEL u will wish u did not!
