your doing a good thing thats for sure.but what you really need is a good kub dealer an machanic.i joking told my machanic that id trade them the tractor back if he couldnt fix it.an he said no worries about that because im going to fix the tractor if i have to tear it down in the field.

Hopefully you'll find yourself a tractor that'll perform up to your expectations.

The 3ph situation w/the std L series tractors have been debated here as well as other sites since they were 1st released. Apparantly Kubota gets more positive feedback on the current design than negative so they continue to provide a less expensive CUT for those where the 3ph functions fine for their uses.
I'm sure that you are aware that the Grand L series don't have these issues.

Good luck in your future tractoring endeavors and God bless you for your contributions of helping those that need it.
Dave

I acquired a new 3710 in 2000. It has been bullet proof and has about 1,800 hours on it now. I use it all seasons for mowing, chipping, splitting, brush cutting, FEL work, plowing and snow blowing.

I ran it for several winters with chains on the front tires and am now convinced that application will wear out wheel bearings early. Too much torque on the front end, especially plowing up hill and backing up a hill, all the weight of the tractor on the front wheel bearings.

I had to replace a bearing, and have stopped running chains on the nose except in dire situations, and then I take it easy.

The lift is jerky, IF the engine rpms are high. If I want to reduce the jerkyness I either solw the engine down or raise the lift handle to desired height in one fell swoop.

I am thinking about a new tractor, and have to say I am quite disturbed about the quality issues I have been hearing about over the last year or two..........

With the economy in the terlet and dealers hanging on by their fingernails, I am really NOT inclined to take a risk on a new machine. I bought my Kubota because around here (at the time I bought it) they had a reputation for being bullet proof and Deere was WAY TOO proud of their product.

Word to the wise, Kubota, Selling junk ain't gonna win you any praises, or new tractor sales.

I am an "old guy" too. They say we have bad memories................. Don't you believe it.

We bought a new Kubota this year after looking at the others and I will put the quality of a Kubota up against any other brand.

I am also an old guy too and worked to hard for my money to spend it lightly and don't think I have in going with Kubota.

Exactly the same here .... except for the old guy part

(even when I am old I probably won't admit it)

Yeah, you will, you will be surprised how meaningless age becomes as you get older.

Thats very generous of you. I'm sure they will appreciate the gift, and I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Kubota.

I've seen video of the 3 point on these tractors, and I can see why it would bother you depending on what you are using the tractor for.

Bought three Kubotas last year after buying nine in the six years before. I agree with the old guy and the going to be old guy. I think the old guy and I are probably only a few days apart.
I also have some problems with people that refer to the bad, shoddy or cheap Kubotas being made now. Don't know where that's coming from. This is a Kubota forum for Kubota owners, but we don't lock the doors to the other envieous owners of the off color brands, and we discuss any issue that we have no matter how small or how big. Often times it's determined the problem is the confused owner (me alot of the times) and not the tractor. There have been some new ideas tried by Kubota which I'm glad for and some of them haven't maybe worked out to the good but if Kubotas were the same as they were 30 years ago, I'm not sure about where their place in the market would be. You older guys need to accept things change and I'm glad for most of it. 1947

John, I have been able to drive some of the older Kubotas owned by friends and while they were no doubt good tractors, I will take the new ones anytime. We also have a 60's Model Case, 80's model Massey Ferguson and three 50's model Fords; good old tractors, but not up to the new ones.

I am another old guy who has no problem with change. 1947:thumbsup:
