Kubota L3560 Size vs. Others

   / Kubota L3560 Size vs. Others #21
Hi, first post. I've browsed this site for awhile, this thread is one in particular that came up during my research.
I'm close to pulling the trigger on an open station grand L. L3560 is what I had my eye on. HST and turf tires.
Dealer also has an L4760, that went out for a demo/ loan. Pulled a hayride at an apple orchard this fall, <50 hours, loader and 3 point unused.
Selling it as new (0% and full warranty) at good discount.
That BIG loader is very enticing...
I do not have a big property, just a large-ish lot. These are bigger machines than most people would be considering given my property size, I suspect.
I have some site work to do, grading and leveling and a retaining wall to build. I also have a large garage build planned, will build primarily alone, so loader will be assisting in that.
After that is complete- snow removal, parking trailers (10k lb camper) and general utility loader/ lifting work.
I know these are similar "frame size" with the 4 cyl models a tad longer. But the bigger tires on the 47 sure make it *look* bigger..!
What is the "effective size" of these 2 models? Is the maneuverability much different?
I'm concerned I'm tripping over spec and looking at machines that actually do border on too big...
I have no pto needs that I can ever see. HP isn't an issue.
Cost is secondary to my decision making. I want the right machine.
I won't be doing a backhoe, I'll rent a mini ex when the need arises, such as the garage foundation, etc.

Any input would be appreciated, I test them in the morning!

Those machines are pretty close to the same capabilities. The L4760 has quite a bit more HP if that’s important. The L3560 is a much nicer machine. And you are comparing one of the lowest HP class of that size Grand series machine.

Thanks for the response, I am interested in what you mean by the L3560 being nicer?
Are they not equipped the same, operator station wise?
They are similar in weight and 3 point lift but the LA1055 on the L4760 is much stronger than the LA805 on the L3560.
This is the L4760, not the standard L4701 I'm looking at.

I missed that part. Disregard the being nicer part. If the 47 has a series bigger loader that would be another advantage.

I see some of myself in your comments. Shop carefully. With mention of snow removal and cost being secondary, are you sure you really want an open station? Drive different tractors. You may be surprised at how nimble some of the larger-looking machines are.

Really leaning toward the L4760 for the bigger loader. With the building a want to raise I think I'll be glad I have as much lift as possible.
I'm thinking the actual maneuverability difference will be negotiable between the 2, even given the visually larger appearance.
"Tractors shrink when you get them home" is the line I keep using on my wife lol.
I gave cabs a hard look and I think open is what I want. Super comfy yes, it just felt frivolous for my uses. I'm not in it long periods of time. A canopy will keep enough weather off my head to be useful. it will only live outside till my building is up, then it will live warm and dry.

So, to add some information...I didn't want a novella for my first post... here's a problem you've heard 1001 times.
I had been shopping for awhile. Many makes and models on my radar. I have spreadsheets of specs, sat on/in dozens of machines (only operated a couple)
I liked Kubota, and I liked my salesperson there.
Looking at my property size, etc. and how he percieved my needs, recommended L2501.
I tested, liked, bought.
I week later I have him on the phone, "dude, It's too small...what can we do..?" It doesn't have the lift I was hoping for, either end.
He gets with Kubota and management, I can get out at minimal loss and into another.
So that's what I'm doing, and a further reason I am shooting larger than smaller.

My L4240 is not from the current series, so things could be different. For one thing, the loader is an L854, which I believe is capacity in KG.

Maybe be that the current geometry of the Grand L's has changed, but with my L3200 / L4240 measurements it could be the Grand L's you're looking at are more nimble than your L2501.

With regard to maneuverability you can check post 31 in the thread below:

Put my name on L4670 today.
Much of what I need is loader work, I think it was the right choice.
I did pass on the demo unit, it had R4's and they wouldn't swap. An as-is deal. Oh well.
Had one on the lot, loaded turfs already on.
Be ready in a couple weeks, I ordered 3 remotes and TnT.
Super excited!
Ordering a rear blade, I like the 96 inch "deluxe" aka value scrape blade from Everything Attachments.

Just make sure the rear valves meet your demands. They are REALLY prone to leakdown problems. I'm on my 7th? And only 1 of my 3 is reasonably solid. Really irritating when your TnT cylinders extend all the way on their own in under an hour. Not really an issue for hydraulic angle or offset as those cylinders aren't fighting gravity. Cold weather hides issues a bit.

Unfortunately I've read all too much on that issue...
I'm hoping they are tighter than has been reported.
They can't all be bad...can they?
I definitely intend to monitor it.
