Kubota L4300 2 or 4WD vs L31304WD?

$700 for R4's seems high to me also, but apparently TNCHRIS has found the same thing. One fairly competitive dealer in the Dallas area quoted me $730, but that may just be his asking price - I wasn't negotiating.

I have noticed that some dealers (Century maybe?) don't charge anything extra for R4's, but they're probably making up for it somewhere else.

The Kubota Dealer gave me these figures yesterday:
L3130HST with LA513 loader $18,283,
Rhino SE6 Shredder$1195
5 year extended service contract $465
Umbrella (instead of canopy because of some trees) $100
Basic tire sealant $180
R4 tires $477

GRAND TOTAL $20,700
by the looks of your prices it might be cheaper to drive to Kansas, Georgia, Ohio or Virginia and buy one there. Is he, even if he is a nice guy/great dealership trying to get as much money out of this ole girl?! I did drive a L3400 and liked it much better than the L4300...should I consider the L3400? Does L3400 come in 4WD, can't remember...can't see either...I'm blindly in love with that L3130HST!

I'm also here in Texas and just purchased a Kubota from Normangee tractor in (surprise) Normangeee, Texas. The price I got for the Rhino SE6 (with tractor purchase) was $950. You really, really should talk to these people if you haven't already. They gave me a great deal on a M4800 and had all the other dealers I got prices from beat by a good margin.

gwoman30,

I think he wants to see what you're willing to pay. You don't have to go to Kansas, there are plenty of competitive Kubota dealers in Texas. Check out the Monthly Specials at Deen Implement, a Kubota dealer near Dallas. They have a similar package for $2400 less.

Take the box blade off of Deen's price and add your options and I would guess your local dealer is still at least $2k high. They (Deen) did tell me when I was in there last week that these were "pre-price increase" units, and when they were sold, the price would go up. How much of a price increase, I didn't ask. I had to get out of there in a hurry before I signed something I shouldn't (like a sales contract)!

I think you would be much happier with a 3130HST. I sat on a 3400, and wasn't even interested enough to fire it up. I got down and climbed on the 3130 next to it and drove it around (for about the 4th time - 2nd at this dealership). The money difference isn't that significant - especially since it's your money. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif We love to spend other people's money here on TBN.

I love you guys! Ya'll have been such a great help. Thanks so much for your information...thanks for spending my $! I am going to go with the 3130HST, will check with Ewald's Kubota before I have to drive to Dallas (I lived near White Rock Lake for a few, just moved back to South Texas...not interested in sitting on IH35 'parking lot', if I don't have to, maybe he'll give me a better price. I bet he will if I go sign that contract today.... -e-

Eva, I don't know where in South Texas you are, but don't think I'd drive to Dallas to get a Kubota. Zimmerer (might say in Dallas, but actually on Loop 12 in Irving, just south of Shady Grove) is a big dealership with lots of inventory, but they also have a place in Cleburne that might be more convenient. Deen and Normangee I think are good dealers, and I bought both my Kubotas from Tipton International on I-35 on the south edge of Waco. There's a dealer on I-35 in Waxahachie; nice folks, but don't know their products very well. And there's a dealer in Coriscana, but I wouldn't recommend wasting any time there.

Eva,

South Texas is bigger than most states. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif If you could narrow that down a little, perhaps some other members could point you to a dealer they have had good experiences with, that's not too far away. After all, from Brownsville to Dallas is about the same as Dallas to Kansas City, while Corpus is only like driving to Springfield, Missouri! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am in Pleasanton..25 miles South of San Antonio, property is 25 miles further South. I am talking to Ewald's in Seguin. I talked to a Kubota dealer in LaGrange and will call one in Kerrville but since I like Ewald's I am going to give him these other quotes and ask him if he wants my $ because I'm ready now...you all have helped tremendously in my decision...my pen is ready to sign...just show me the right amount of money on the grand total line. If not, LaGrange might be the place to leave it! Oh...LaGrange is about 40 miles NE of Pleasanton. -e-

If you're form Pleasanton, try Ewald's in Floresville,. However, I've dealt w/ Ewand's (all three locations), and they were over $1,000 higher than another dealer mentioned earlier in this thread (shipping included). No offense, but I'd shop elsewhere. If you're sold on Ewald, at least work'em a bit.

Yes, I will go to another dealer if we are talking thousands of dollars...I have trouble giving away $5! One more question...what about the HST..how long has that been in use? Is there a history of reliability? I know it drives wonderfully but what about a few years from now? Will I have to take it to a special repair shop if it breaks? -e-
