Any news on the brace kit? Anyone have one or seen one? I'd like to know for sure Kubota is really going to fix this prior to buying one of the new BX's. Thanks.

We've installed some of the stay kits, they do exist. They are very easy to put on. Our best mechanic said "You'd have to be 500lbs to break that thing". There is virtualy no flex from the fender now.

Hey Neil,

Any chance you could provide the part # for the stay kit. I had my fender assembly replaced, but do not see any type of bracing.

Where does this kit install? Maybe it's there and I don't see it.

Thanks for you input.

I always find it interesting that a person that has knowledge about how a part is manufactured, can describe the manufacturing process, along with a detailed explanation of how and why, is berated by someone that has a their own ideas, but doesn't provide any background to support their theory. America is a wonderful place where freedom of speech takes over for reasonable and intelligent thought processes. Throw enough iron at the problem and it will be resolved. Harry, you have my utmost respect for correctly describing the problem and the resolution of the problem.

Again, I do not see is a manufacturing issue, I see a design issue. The fenders break due to the stress on them like all things out there. The stress is caused be a lack of support under the fenders. This has been fixed according to Kubota. Right, Ok. So now the reason my fender cracked by the handle (second fender) is due to what? Kubota has not stepped up to the plate. As soon as the cold hit it cracked and no one was even near it. My buddy and I were in the garage with the door open drinking a beer and we heard a "crack". Come to find out the **** thing broke just sitting there. What the @!%!!

Very 315 Danilo

Ohh, wait - I'm moving out that way in May... I better STFU!

Seriously - could there have been water or something in there that froze and split it? I only ask because the pressure freezing water can exert is HUGE. Other than that... how many beers? :)

Ouch! I have been labeled 315er. Grew up saying just that when I lived in Penfield NY. Did not see any ice or anything of the like. It is garaged always so I am thinking when they replaced the fender the first time they might have tightened the holding screw a bit too much?? I am just so dissappointed with this issue. It appears they need to take another look at the design. Plastic is ok as long an it it not a support area. The tractor should be designed without the fender for the platform and handles and any other part needing support. Then place the plastic fender/hood/whatever over the shell. That wouls fix the problems I anticipate.

It was the first beer... After we descovered the crack, we finished the case ;o)

That's where I was hatched and currently reside - off to Walworth and new house and 34 acres in May/June. My wife, however, says we are taking the Vonage modem with us - so we will "never be a 315-er"...
I agree with the bad idea of the platform/fender combo... I also have not had issue.
Stepping on a corner and something breaking is one thing - but a tractor sitting in a garage and just "breaking" is something far different... that's just wrong on so many levels.

Huh, what, 315er, is that like a 5150er?

315 is a telephone area code in upstate NY - known for sparse tooth to person ratios, large blocked vehicles in the yard, tarped roof coverings...
Really - it's just a more rural area... but the jokes abound...
