Buying Advice Kubota M7060

We have a hydraulic top link on every tractor we can without a lot of extra trouble.

We have three or four older tractors used for bush hogging that don't have fluid in the tires, everything else has wiper fluid and of those, one has cast centers and another added wheel weights. It's not unusual to get a flat, so we don't use rimguard. A properly weighted tractor sure helps us, but may not be for everybody.

The idea of getting a flat with a new tractor does not make me happy. The pasture I bought is overgrown with lots of wild Bradford pear trees. I will bush hog the grass and brush first to see what I am up against, then either forestry mulch or bulldoze the trees. The pear trees can have some wicked spikes on them that can puncture tractor tires.

We have a couple or three tractors with flat seal, pink spots all over them. We had a front flat the second day we owned our M8540HDC, just something we deal with. We have rented a tracked skid loader for a week for a particularly gnarly section of about 50 or so acres.

I can rent a tracked Bobcat T770 with forestry mulched at my local Bobcat dealer. I would rather go that route, rather than bulldoze them all into a pile and burn them, but we shall see.

Sure wish I could of found one of those, but no one handles them.

We are waiting for our dealer to get the Radial R1 tires in. He ordered them on a new M4 tractor, but there are delays (we initially wanted an M4, but it was too hard to justify the price difference). We are going from an open station L4240 with two remotes and hydraulic top link to a M7060 HDC12 with loader, creep, three remotes, loaded radial R1s with cast centers, air ride seat, defogger, and toothed bar for the bucket. This is the third upgrade of tractor. We started with open station tractors because we used it in the woods for maintaining our sugarbush. However since that time we have been able to establish good woods roads which are wide enough to handle a cab. The cab will also be nice when clearing snow in the winter.

I think I would have to recommend a serious look at a cab in your case. Now is cheaper than upgrading later...unless you think you will want more tractor.

I think the 7060 is a good choice. Open station vs cab is really a personal preference thing. I think for lots of mowing and field work they are definitely a nice thing to have but its a comfort thing for the most part. If I were buying new I'd go open station and spend the extra 8k on a bigger machine not a cab, but I'm a sucker for more HP.

I guess you could call it a "comfort thing" when you found you've mowed over a hornet's nest and they swarm after you for revenge. I love sitting in my cab and just smile when I see all the bugs on the outside of the glass! Also when I don't have to breathe all that dust I've just stirred up.

Running down the pine rows and no getting cover by banana spiders and webs.
