Kubota parts and supplies are RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE

I think there is little doubt, manufacturers like Kubota or any of the big names, (including cars) face immense pressure to lower prices on new equipment whether it be a tractor or a car. So those margins alone are not enough to support the business.
Parts and service is where they make it back and those prices interesting, are not negotiable. Take it or leave it. So they got us by the..... you know what.

Interesting idea, but needs some editing.

My thinking is that parts should be cheaper. No assembly required by the auto or tractor manufacturer or dealership. And I believe the dealers' shop rates serve a large part to support their business. :confused3:

The reason parts are expensive is because its very labor intensive. Each item has to be sourced, ordered, counted, packaged by the manufacturer, then ordered, counted, binned, by the dealers stock people, then a technician needs to help you determine what you need, and retrieve it from the bin. There are A LOT of hands. You won't find anyone who disagrees that parts are too expensive, but their cost is more indicative of the process that it takes to get them to you than the value of the actual item.

^^^ That's something that I hadn't really thought all the way through.

I agree. Sad but true.

Ok, coming from someone who actually runs and knows the business, I concede. :drink:

Amazon seems to have lessened the logistics of similar marketing...and pass the savings to the consumers...

Thinking it should be cheaper to buy the parts than a whole tractor is retarded. The expense required to get you the right part in a timely manner is huge. You wouldn’t be happy if the parts counter didn’t exist because the staff cost money and the inventory didn’t exist because that cost money and the parts diagram didn’t exist because they cost money.

Have not needed my Kubota parts but I found when I ordered a set of mounted tires on rims through whole goods about half the price of just ordering tires from my local Tire shop...

So half the price plus I hot new rims in the deal ready to bolt on.

Maybe this has changed but I have told this story many times and it still amazes my tractor friends around here.
