On the MX 5400 you can get it with a cab but not without the cab.

Is it to late to change your order?

According to the Kubota website, the MX 5400 IS available with either the cab or ROP on all 4wd versions. Only the ROP is available on the 2wd version.

Grand L models are available as ROPS tractors. If your NH had tilt steering it was most certainly a deluxe model. I was working at the dealership when the first TCs came off the truck and I still work for a NH/Kubota dealer.

I had a Mahindra 2615 that was far from a deluxe model and it had tilt steering. Buying a tractor is somewhat like buying a truck one has to find the make and model that best fits their needs for a price one is willing to pay.

<edit> you can get it with or without a cab... :2cents:

No too many trees where I will use it. I'll be happy the way it comes, I just would have loved to have the tilt steering I don't see how thet's asking too much.

My comment was specifically referencing the OPs New Holland CUT. The D suffix in the model designation means Deluxe. A TC35 (note the absence of the D) would not have a tilt/telescopic steering column.

Is Kubota behind the times or what drives these crazy decisions???

Kubota's market share of the compact tractor market in the USA is 50%. Someone likes Kubota's tractors.

This^

MX is built to have a lot of capability without frills and to pass those savings on. Love mine.

Exactly- someone us don't care about the tilt wheel (not sure if I have it or not???), the pedal is fine - don't mind it or even think about it. As for loader lever placement - seems fine, cant say it bothers meh but I guess I am used to it. All this is personal preference and why the company makes different models for those that want these things vs those who done.

I have for years but mine aren't 'compact'. One of mine has a tilt wheel, the other don't and frankly, I never 'tilt' the tilt wheel anyway.

I never knew it was 50%. wow. I guess Deere has the second most and everyone else is bringing up the rear.

I know my dealer sells a boatload of little ones, big ones too.

If it makes you feel any better, I prefer standard shift. I learned to drive with a stick and currently all my vehicles are stick.

I'd love to buy a brand new Ford F350 diesel with a stick... that ain't gonna happen... makes no sense to me.

But to marketing and sales, it makes all the sense in the world. I'm 1% of the population that likes to row gears and be more in control.

Gee, so do I (in a tractor), but then I farm so I don't want a power robbing Hydrostat but I don't like clutching either so I always get (and have 2) hydraulic shuttles. The hydraulic shuttle eliminates the dry clutch entirely. Dry clutches are the major wear item in a tractor. Eliminating it is a plus for me.

I do not like the two peddle design for the HST. I prefer the Kubota design. My wide feet hits both peddles, so I prefer the single peddle.
