Tractor
None-looking to buy
Ok, classic question here. Which is better? Kubota or John Deere? As I have been researching size, it brought me to the classic debate of Kubota vs. John Deere. So, what are the reasons to but a Kubota, and what are the reasons not to buy a Kubota? I've heard many things and I am slightly confused. I will also post this question on the john deere forums to gauge their response as well. Thanks for responding.

You just buy the tractor you like the best...no need to make it any more complicated then that, eh?

They are both fine tractors. Pick whichever color you like best.

That says it all...

When I bought our L3800DT 3 months ago, I looked at JD and Kubota. I liked the 3800 better than the comparable JD. The Kubota was a bit larger and less money.

It's also hard to beat Kubota for resale value. But I plan to keep this one a looooong time! :D

Yup. Agreed with all before me. Buy the one that fits you like a glove

I was an existing Deere customer and thought it would be natural to buy another Deere when looking for something bigger. So I spent a lot of time shopping Deere and was nearly set on a 1026R or 2320. That opinion changed when I cross-shopped Kubota (which I only intended to be a quick sanity check). The B2920 just seemed to hit my personal sweet spot in terms of features, build quality, fit, and value. To top it off, the Kubota dealer took great care of me during the sale.

So, I am not touting one brand over the other (in fact, I still own and love my smaller Deere) but am saying to keep an open mind, do proper shopping and research, and let the facts, price, and buying experience guide you. Can't really go wrong either way. It's just a matter of finding what you like the best.

Just be sure when comparing and I certainly wouldn't limit my search to just these two brands to compare comparable models. Everyone makes economy, mid and higher end models. I personally can't figure a lot of them out, so I would check with knowledgeable members on the different forums to make sure you are doing an apples to apples comparison.

I've bought 13 Kubotas over the past 9 years. I bought my first one because the comparable Deere was $3000 more and the Blue was $2500 more. That's why I started with Kubota. My dealer (Barlows) wants to sell tractors and he prices them to move locally and for nation wide delivery. The other color dealers locally sell a lot fewer tractors and have to make more profit, I understand that and have no problem with it.
As long as Barlows sells Kubotas to me for a great price, I'll continue buying from him even though I've finally got the 5 I need, I've finished buying.:laughing:
I've stayed with Kubota because they have been fine working machines with almost no problems, my dealer (Barlows) has continued to give me good deals on trades and I LIKE them.
I don't dislike any of the others because I haven't owned any of the others, course some people don't like anything they don't have and know nothing about.
My suggestion, listen to people that have actual experience, like TripleR who owns different brands, and don't listen to people that don't have actual experience. If I ever offer an opinion on any brand but Kubota......don't listen to me, I've never owned any other brand tractor.
I also agree with MOST of the others that have posted here, determine your needs, check different brands for the best machine to fulfill your needs at the price you can sleep with. If you decide it's a Kubota, check with Barlows for a price delivered to you as many, many others have.

Is there any one thing in life that is better than every other thing for everyone in life?

Sorry, I answered your question with a question. But honestly, you can't say one is better than another. Everyone has different experiences with brands, but they don't represent the whole. Everyone likes/dislikes a brand for a certain reason.

The true answer is: what you like best:thumbsup:

I have a BX : I'd like something bigger ( for no good reason really .... )
so I spent a fair number of hours reading about JD 2000 and 3000 and Kubota B##20 , B##30 models on Forums.
We can't get the imps and add ons that you're use to in the US . It's somewhat limited here , and therefore I don't take that into
account .

So , what do I think ? The JD3000 range looks as good as the Kubota B##30 : just pick your model requirements.
The JD2000 doesn't get alot of happy buyers , and the B##20 appears better in design/quality and warranty problems .

There are heaps of differences ( as always in tractors ) in all of this stuff ,
but some JD2000 have reliability concerns in 4x4 mode .

Well I gotta tell ya, You just get whatever suits you the best. Just because 2 people wear same size shoes doesnt mean one brand fits one the best over the other like nikes or reeboks. One person prefers nikes and other prefer reeboks due to way it feels.

So my question to you is have you sat in both tractors and see which is calling out your name?:D
