kubota vs. kioti

   / kubota vs. kioti #161
Kioti is a fine tractor a 200hrs. After 5 years, then you will see why people buy John Deere, Kubota, CNH/Ls. They hold up. IF well maintained they will still run like new. A kioti no matter how well maintained and taken care of will start to fall apart after a few hundred hours.

One of the main reasons I didn't buy a New JD is because while looking for a new machine I actually take a walk around back to the service area where the tractors needing fixed are It always seems that they are full of newer John deere tractors but when I look in the service areas of the other guys they only mostly have only one newer machine and the rest are very old machines that are being worked on. The Kioti place I purchased from had absolutely zero Kioti machines being fixed only Old JD, Agco, New Holland and a big case IH. wonder why? My friends JD needed split in half at less than 100 hours in the first two years and they even tried to claim it wasn't a warrantee item .
Many years ago I would agree that you get what you pay for and suck up paying a little extra for a JD but in todays world they are not the same and I would only buy a JD if they cost less than the cheep Chinese machines. Plastic and aluminum where steel and hard cast should be wont buy them the many years that we got from the old machines. One of the reasons I put off buying a new machine till now was when I compared the New JD's a few years back with my old JD I was disgusted with the actual build quality. Not talking here about fit and finish but rather comparing the cheep parts and use of cheep materials as opposed to my old machine. Even the dealership said I was best off keeping my old machine when I got technical with my questions and started to compare parts to parts

I wasnt trying to start anything guys, but Im just talking about my experience. Everyone has a different one. I have had very good relationships from my john deere dealerships. All of my john deeres have held up. With that being said, there are good models and bad models of every brand. My john deeres have held up. I have only had 1 major break down on my 2320, and the dealer covered it as a design flaw. My tractors has over 900hrs of hard labor. Many things it wasn't designed to do. A lot of rock work is hard on a machine. From my friends experiences their kiotis havent held up. If yours have great, im just sharing what ive heard. Also, i like new kubotas, the old small ones were junk. The new bigger ones are nice.

Maybe he just said that to see if he could get a "rise" out of us Kioti owners.. Yeah, that's the ticket.:)

I still think this is pretty accurate....after reading his latest revelation

Sorry to bust an other bubble you green lovers seem to create but the JD line is the only one I found to have any lower priced models using substandard designed parts just to offer a machine at a competitors price point. When I looked at all the other Kioti tractors on the dealers lots they all had good heavy duty parts nothing substituted just to save some bucks in hopes of getting a sale based on price point.
My friend, who is still even after his encounter with that very expensive repair of a basically new machine looked at my choice as a second opinion for me before buying it. His words were simple "I am paying too much for my tractors, I cant find one thing to dislike about this Kioti and believe me I tried".
His second encounter with it was actually working it here at my place moving some shale and a couple big boulders that I moved out for the neighbor and we dug a big hole out back to test the backhoe out. His words after that were also simple after moving the boulder "Holy s--- there is no way my JD would lift that" and when all was done " I am trading my JD in and buying one of these"
When we discussed the hook up of the return line from the backhoe being a free option that would help it run cooler he also noted two things about his JD. One was "my hoe does run much hotter than yours and I don't work it as hard as you do" and "JD would charge you at least 200 dollars more for that set up if they even offered it"
Kind of makes me think what is JD selling, because at their price point I would think a similar sized and HP rated machine from a much lower price point would not be able to impress a current JD owner ?

I'm no expert but in my opinion, the new smaller ones kick butt... and almost regardless of brand I would venture to guess. I will testify that my little BX is worth it. That IS the issue here with X vs. Y isn't it? Tractor competition??? Com'n man! If you are really into it... then do your research, find what you like that you are willing to pay for... all things considered. Price, quality, features, compatibility, interchangeability, access to support/maintenance/repair, bla, bla, bla. Then pull the trigger. This brand thing (while I respect it because there is good reason and usually quality behind it) is stupid to be debating for very long. It is about the right tool for the job but... the job is #1. They all have their pro's and con's comparing to one another. How are we going to settle it here. It should be based on the operator expectations.

I also have to tell ya my Diesel 2011 JD X740 was back in the shop after 44 hours when the mower deck JUST DROPPED when I was mowing.Had to wait 2 weeks for a bolt to fix it .Hows that for service? Now on the other hand my 2008 Kioti DK 40se(sold)with 274 hours was NEVER in the shop.My 2012 Kioti DK40 hst now has 80 hours,no shop visits for trouble yet.As you can see I am not brand loyal. But I do have a few extra bucks in my wallet.

Hmmm....interesting how the topic changes so much. 110 hours on my ck30, so I guess I should ask for a partial refund from the dealer??? Some people just don't have a clue! :anyone:

I guess all of his friends have gotten the lemons off of the Kioti production line.

I know I wouldn't hang around with Roadbuilder!
