L3130 Purchasing Options

I am considering purchasing a L3130 with a loader and backhoe. I received the following quotes and I ask for input as to whether these prices are reasonable:
L3130 - $13900
Kubota 723 Loader - $4630
Kubota BC 4690 Hoe - $7300

I also have quotes on the following for aftermarket loaders and backhoe's:

Bush Hog
2045 Loader - $3600
BH650 Hoe - $6600

Woods
1009 Loader - $4150
1012 Loader - $4300
BH90 Hoe - $7895

Based on price, I prefer going with Bush Hog implements. Does anyone have any experience with Woods or Bushog? I have seen some good comments concerning Woods. Are there any warranty issues if I were to pursue aftermarket implements as opposed to Kubota?

Any recommendations?

Off of the top of my head the price for the tractor and loader seem okay, there are considerable price differences in the country. Texans seem to be able to buy Kubotas cheap, well relatively speaking.

When I asked my local dealer about the BH90, he told me $7200 plus tax installed with all of the hoses and controllers.

But as I mention this backhoe, I would look at the Woods Groundbreaker series, they have an optional hydraulic thumb, and a JD dealer told me he would do the entire install with hoses and controllers just a hair over $8,000 including tax at 8.6%. I would look into this before I purchased.

Sorry but I know nothing about the other loaders.

What kind of service are you getting out of your 723 loader? Any problems? Is the bucket pretty strong or does it bend easily?

It appears to me that the 723 is a little better (based on specifications) than the Woods or Bush Hog loaders. However, it does cost $500 to $1000 more.

Your prices for the tractor and loader seem reasonable. I have not priced backhoes. I strongly recommend the quick attach adapter for the loader, also get the heavy duty bucket. If you plan to use a tooth bar you don't need the bolt on cutting edge. I bought the 66" bucket since I will not be doing a great deal of dirt moving and the smaller size is easier to manuever.

The LA723 is a great loader and I have not had any problems with it. It is definitely the loader to get.

723 loader, has been great, with no problems, but I do not know how it compares to the other two you are looking at. With that being said if you get a BH 90 you NEED to have the 723 loader. If you buy one of the other back hoes I do not know if you NEED the 723 loader. I have heard of no complaints about the 723 loader from anybody.

As texbaylea, mentioned a quick detach bucket is real nice you may not plan on any thing right now but down the road you may come up with new toys to buy. It is cheap to do now.

Do not get the cutting edge on the bucket, just plan on getting a toothbar, a great little attachment.

Another thought, if you do not have a welder.

Have the dealer weld on a couple of 3/8"s inch chain hooks to the top of the bucket, they come in handy, and should be thrown in for free.

I appreciate the advice. I need to investigate the tooth bar as I didn't know it was an option. Chain hooks are a great ideal too.

The Woods and Bush Hog brands include quick attach for the prices listed. I understand the Kubota brand is about $500 more.

After comparing, I like the Woods backhoe, probably drop down to the BX-80. The thumb attachment looks like it could be very useful.

I have additional questions.

Has anyone had the optional remote hydraulic valves added? The book says that up to three can be added. I assume that one will be added with a backhoe attachment. Are there any other uses? Is this something that can be worked into the deal at purchase? If not, any idea on the price to add?

For me, dollar for dollar, the toothbar was by far the best “bang for the buck” hands down. I went with Markham Welding. IMO they cannot be beat! I installed my own chain hooks… Can you say indispensable?

I own a Kubota BH. It does do what I need and for the most part I am very happy with it, but from what I have seen, Woods seems to a better Backhoe.

I purchased a Woods 1012 QA FEl last year for my 3130, paid $3600.00 for the loader, $350.00 for a toothbar. Priced the 723 QA at $4300.00 but the Woods speced-out about the same. With what I saved going with Woods I was able to buy a HD set of Forks. The Woods has worked great for me but I'm sure the 723 would have also.
