L3130 Purchasing Options

It is best to add the auxillary valves when purchasing as they are easier and cheaper to install when the dealer is setting up the tractor. The primary reason is that it is very convenient to have the right wheel and fender off for the install.
I had mine done with purchase and 3 valves cost just over $1300 installed. I recommend 3 valves: 1 for a grapple and 1 each for the hydraulic top link and side link. If you use your tractor like most of us, you will eventually end up with all 3.

Evaluator, I would buy the biggest B/H that will fit the 3130. The reason for this is not so much the digging depth but the reach of the B/H. This will allow greater options for placing your spoils and also allow you to dig farther without moving when digging trenches. Bill C

I had the tractor you describe, 3130, 723,BL4960.
The prices for the tractor and loader seem fine but the BH seems a couple hundred high. My opinion is to get the BH90. My dealer talked me out of getting the BH90, he said it was too heavy for the 3130 and with the comparitively small pump that the 3130 has compared to the higher HP tractors in the Grand line, it wouldnt perform as well as PTO operated pump on the BL4690. The 4690 was a good BH and performed well but, in retrospect, I should've gotten the BH90 instead. Much better mounting system, more reach and more power. The 3130 would've carried it just fine.

I bought a L3130 a couple of years ago with a Bush Hog M246 loader. I have absolutely no complaints with the Bush Hog loader. Very easy to operate and seems strong both in construction and capability.

The L3130 HST, Bush Hog M246 Loader, King Kutter back blade, Ag tires: $16,500.

I have looked in detail at all implements. The problem is that I like the Bush Hog 2046 loader and Woods BH-80X backhoe. Subframes won't match is what I am being told. I do understand that the subframe for the Woods backhoe will connect to the Kubota 723 loader.

Any input on the need for a subframe for a 3130 tractor when using a backhoe? One dealer says its a must and another says its a waste of money.

Subframe makes sense to me and I think it would make connection/disconnection of the backhoe easier.

Any ideas?

I have the L3130 gear tractor with the LA723 loader with 6' QA HD bucket and the Woods BH-80X BH. This is my first CUT and first use of either a FEL or a BH, so I can't compare brand quality or usability of these. However, based on the torques that I can see and feel when operating the BH, I'm sure the subframe is the way to go -- I just can't imagine allowing any more degrees of freedom for flex in the system. The Woods BH-80X is "compatible" with the LA723 subframe, but the original LA723 "rails" are replaced by Woods-supplied rails to adapt the Woods subframe components. You get the two Kubota rails to use as raw material for some future modification project in the color Orange.
