Well see - thats why I ask questions. I believe what you're saying and think it applies real well to the lot. I'll plan on doing some of the prep, and maintenance after the contractor goes in and does the major work. I may be repeating myself, but I have a neighbor who has a MUCH larger grade loader/backhoe who will help with the stuff I can't handle. He has something from Fermec - ??60, it's about an 18000 pound unit and man can it rip stumps out. Although I haven't learned the limits of what a CUT can do, I'll never abuse it. I'm just looking foward to all the things I can get done on it.

Thats my long way of saying thanks. It's great advice.

TXDon I'd be getting an extra valve and some hoses and have a grapple bucket for the front. That way you could easily pick up the tree's debis easily.

I can honestly say mesquite is one thing I won't have to deal with. I'll tell ya though, sounds like a lot of folks are having fun (and working) with these tractors. I may have to find some use for it before the ground thaws here.

Take care,

Midstate and Kahn were within about 100.00 of each other,I ended up with kahn because they took my 680 in trade and they seemed to be a little bigger. They are both about 25 miles away and Kahn did come down a little on the price when I went to make the deal

"I find many people that come back after buying, and when talking later, after the purchase they wonder why they waited so long. "

Art, isn't that the truth. I hear the same thing from folks and I'm not even in the business

It's likely I'll go there to buy. They are a lot closer to me than Midstate. I came on Jean's business card last night while I was going through some of my tractor stuff. It's funny, I went there originally to look at a BX2200, worked my way up to a B7500, and now I'm at the L3130... Who knows where I'll end up.

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifBye for now,

Hi Steve,

The advice you have gotten here is good. I live in SE CT also and have a 3130 (purchased April 03). I love it, but when I had to clear some land for a barn I hired a pro with a 15 ton excavator and small dozer. When I saw what they did and the amount of time it took it was well worth the $ for the excavating. My 3130 is great for cleaning up, grading, snow removal, moving firewood etc. This is my first real tractor and I love it. I also looked at the JD 4300, then 4310, NH TC29, 33,35 etc, Kiotis, Cub Cadets. For me the 3130 was everything I wanted. I looked for over 2 years. I'm glad it took me that long, because back when I started I thought I would end up with the JD or NH, as the Kubota 3010 or 3410 specs lacked behind the others. With the Grand L 30 series, Kubota has significantly raised the bar, IMHO. Plus metal fenders, no e-hydro (I think this will prove to be a big mistake for JD in the long run, i.e. 15-20 years from now) outstanding loader specs and a bullet proof reputation.

Thanks for the confirmation of the information here. It's amazing how much I've leanred just from finding this site. I'm glad you've got plenty of uses for the tractor.

I've seen several folks from CT on here, and quite a few from our area. We'll have to start a CT Chapter of the forum.

Take Care,
