What are the expandable pipe plugs? Where would I go looking for them? What is their design purpose?

they are great, the two under my cab area 3" worked perfectly but I used 4" on the fel crossbar. I had two put a little bit of electrical tape on them so they would fit nice and snug. The key to that is have it completely expanded out before you put the tape on or else it wont work. i have posted a pic of it.

Usually used in plumbing, it's basically a rubber plug with a bolt through it and a wing nut. When you tighten the wing nut, it expands the rubber to seal the pipe. Kinda like a boats drain plug.

In the trade (plumbing) they are called test plugs

i was just at my dealer and saw they have a "tool box and Cup Holder" for use when a Backhoe is installed. it clamps onto the ROPS. Not a very big box, but better than nothing

Thanks for giving these a name. I've been looking for these but haven't found them. I'm hoping that with name I can find one that will work with my b-series loader.

On the issue of tool boxes, here's the solution I came up with, works great. I posted about previously if anyone wants more info on what I did, but it is basically an ammo can that I mounted to the inside of the loader frame. It's not huge, but meets my needs. Hope its helpful to someone.

Thanks again.

One thing that the bare bones L3400 is missing is a toolbox. It got tiring not having a spot to put the odd clevis, pins etc.

I had planned on the dealer doing this when I sent it in for a 50 hr service but I ended up doing the service myself. I mustered up the courage to drill some holes in my tractor and I think I'm happy with the result.

This is a run of the mill metal toolbox I picked up at TSC, painted it Kubota orange. There didn't seem to be a perfect spot for it on this machine so this is what I settled on. It's bolted on well and I don't plan on carrying much weight in it but we'll see how my very first project holds up!

My L3700 has a tool box. Didn't realize that the L3400 did not have one.

I'm a day late and a dollar short on this one, but my L3400 has a tool box too. I just bought mine last Friday, so maybe Kubota added it due to customer's complaints. Of course, it isn't big enough, so I may look for a place to put another one. Great thread! Thanks.

Mine has one too (2010 model) it is not really large, but it is big enough for me. I am never really far from the house anyway.
