L3400

I've heard the L3400 is Live continues power All the time. What does that mean. Does it run all the time. Can you shut if off? I'm kind of green when it comes to some of this.

What can anybody tell me about this model. I'm wanting to put a backhoe on this to. what hoe can you use? Thanks Mark

If you want to bend cylinders you can try a BH75 or a BH90. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'm just kidding.

It depends on your need and your budget... about Kubota, a BH75 (7.5') could do a nice job even if there are some people on TBN who have "possible issue" with theirs. I'm not sure if you can use a BH90 (9.0') on a L3400. I ordered a BH75 but I didn't get the chance to try it yet.

I think you are asking about a continuous or live PTO.?? The 2-stage clutch on my L3400 allows me to stop moving the tractor without stopping the PTO ie. the attachment will keep operating even though you have stopped the tractor from moving...push the clutch all the way down and everything stops.

The old beasts without the 2-stage clutch were quite a pain as the PTO would stop when you pressed the clutch -- invariably this would be right when the bailer was about to enter a plunge cycle so that when you let the clutch up there was no momentum from the fly-wheel (had stopped) and either the shear pin would break or the tractor would stall -- arrgg.

There are others who could answer more fully if they get the chance to read your question.

The BH 75 does not require pto, it runs off the tractor hydraulics.
