This forum is great-it has been very helpful!! I have been searching and studying this site for a couple of months and have been thoroughly impressed by the display of knowledge and respect on the various forums. Now to the Point! I have no experience with tractors, I have never driven one(except for a short test drive of a 3010 and 3710), and I am going to buy one in the next month. The various tasks I will be performing, or attempting to perform, will be:
*Using FEL to clear 1-4" pine, spruce, fir, and tamerack in sandy soil with an occasional 8" spruce(maybe 10 large spruce trees total)
*Removing snow off a small driveway in a 150" snowzone w/FEL-possibly purchase blower in future but would rather have FEL, and if my ATV w/plow can clear-so can FEL!
*Till/Disk light soil and pasture for food plots-5 acres current-10 acres at most in future.
*Level cleared land with boxscraper and rippers-am considering hydraulic top link.
*Remove an occasional 20 year old pine stump in the 12-16" range.
*Use a broadcaster to spread Lime in the 4 tons per acre range.
*Maintain existing logging roads on our 130 acres.
*Any other excuse to play on my new machine!
Other than curtis hard cab w/heater,60-70" tiller, 500-600#Boxblade,Broadcaster, and FEL, I have narrowed my long search down to the L4310, with the possibility of going with L4610 or L3710-maybe JD4600??-all w/Hydro and 4X4. What do you guys think?? Sorry this is so long-I tried to be thorough.
Thanks!
