imho your first pick was the best one, the MX is more substantial , beefier front axle and its a current model. thats unless you get a real deal on 4400, like 5 k less than on the MX

Agreed but now the price difference between the two is much greater. Originally it was only $1200 or thereabouts and now because the L4400 is sitting on his lot, I now have these prices:

L4400, HST, R4's, BH92, block heater, full tank:

$34,500 0% 48mths
$32,800 cash

MX4700, HST, R4's, BH92, block heater, full tank:

$37,050 0% 60mths
$35,350 cash

Now I have not negotiated with him much on the MX4700 and the new price on the L4400 was given because I told him that if he wants it off his lot, he needs to do better. His original price for the L4400 was $35,800 at 0% or $34,500 cash. He would need to order or find an MX4700.

I too would pick the MX. More tractor plus you get a lot better/beefier loader if you want one.
