L4400 vs Grand L 3940 vs John Deere 4105

They are standard on the 4400 Kubota.

I think he is talking about the actual swivel ball ends and I do not think they are standard on the L4400 or at least they weren't on mine. They do show up in the L4400DT parts manual as an option. I would think they would work on the L4400HST as well what do you think Art?

Can anyone else on this forum elaborate on the telescopic link end issue?

dex 3361, On my Deere 4520 the link ends can be unlocked and pulled out a few inches and allowed to swivel up and down, forward and back to make hitching up to a heavy implement much easier. I also have the sliding telescopic sway bars that allow the arms to move laterally to facilitate hooking up the implement. Just looking for clarification, thanks.

Yes that is what I was understanding but I think Art was thinking the sway stabilizers.

I read over the L4400 on the Kubota site and was curious whether they offer the telescopic link ends? Not to be confused with the stabilizers for the hitch sway. On my tractor the link ends can be released to allow easier attachment to the implement hitch pins then reverse the tractor to make them slide back in and lock.

I use both telescopic link ends and IMatch, top and tilt and skidsteer loader attachments makes life alot more pleasant.

Thought I was being clear on this, at any rate is this an option from Kubota? I would think this is important to have if hooking up implements by yourself.

I believe that is (or was) an option from Kubota, our L3830 has them, it makes hooking things up much easier. I wish that the B7510 had them. It would make hooking up the tiller much easier.

I went from a B2910 with telescoping arms to an L4400 without them. Big mistake. I ended up buying a Pat's system to offset but it's not the same. People on here often say don't worry about the gadgets but I say always worry about the gadgets. Even to the point of sacrificing a little HP and size to afford the luxury model with gadgets. I use my tractor for a multitude of uses and am always hooking/unhooking implements (extendable arms), sitting in different positions (good seat/tilt, telescoping wheel), detail 3pt work (position control).

dex actually helped me out with this and gave me the info to give my dealer so I could get it added...

The L4400 does NOT come with telescoping links, but it can be ordered. I was given a price of 350.00 to add the feature.

I told him I'd just wait on it and see if I need it.

Calling him back tomorrow to tell him to add it back in!

Telescoping links are advantageous for things that are heavy and not easily moved, i.e. heavy duty box scrapers. If you have a flail mower it is also advantageous. If your using a finish mower they are not so important. Point is, look at your implements and decide how important it is. I went from telescopic lower links (which of course had free swing sways that lock) to my current L4850 with none of that. Frankly its conveiniant but you learn how to work it so its just not that big of a deal. For $350 I'd learn how to work it.

mr myers: you see, already you're looking at options included in models beyond the 4400. things get complicated real quick, been there many times myself...... and probably will be there again.....every day I have to remind myself to keep things simple......... best of luck!...and I'm sure it will work out for you whatever route you go.... bb
